    Grateful Dead 1991 Halloween run
Wow, these shows were truly EPIC! I had sprained my ankle and was on crutches for the four shows. Dancing on crutches. I was lucky to be backstage for the entire run --- that helped a lot. The fact that Bill Graham had passed away on the 25th made for a somewhat somber experience initially. I remember I was dressed as a priest for the Halloween show.

    Epic show
One of the best I saw. Flew up a few days before, last minute kind of thing. My friends had a a ticket for me for the 30th but not the 31st. we were staying at the holiday inn by the airport and it was packed with heads (always was for oakland runs). we're getting ready to head to the show and I'm a little bummed because I knew it was going to be tough ticket in the lot, probably impossible with it being a halloween show. anyway we're in the parking lot heading for our car and this group of heads parked next to us ask us if anyone needs a ticket. I do! Face value and it was a GDTS "glitter" ticket and I didn't have many of those back then so that was cool. I was really bummed that I couldn't stick around for the BG show in GG park a few days later. My friends were begging me to stay but I had to get back for work. shoulda stayed. stupid stupid stupid...

    very memorable show
The dancer-spinner hallway outside of section 218-222 became my religious Mecca during this set of shows. Drum jams at set break. The following year, I fell in love with a fellow-dancer there. This was the beginning of that journey for me. I had made a crazy mask from papier machet with LED lights inside and stuff, and wore it to the show. There were lots of other costumes, too. What a blast!

To start off after wishing good night to a telemarketer during the day and getting a repeat. In conclusion that has nothing with what comes next. I before mentioned that at least 3 years thought the lyrics to duprees diamond blues was first thing you know you're goin to plump that chicken. while the new outstanding web page was underconstruction. Finally, When you guys play plump that chicken at the N.R.A. finals ~ that was me about my gun!Banana peel on stairs!

This was the last time the band took me to the stratosphere. Amazing night... When Kesey rapped, it raised the hairs on the back of your neck.

It was good. My favorite costume was the hippie in the business suit carrying a brief case.

This was quite the "Beat eulogy" on the part of Ken Kesey. In the middle of Dark Star here comes,... here comes, oh my God it's Ken Kesey. How in the.. what the.. my eyes, ears are not fooling me. Ken Kesey with that crazy top hat giving his all. For the love of Pete, for pete's sake. What a time.Earlier had bumped into Owsley in the hall and talked about "blue stones". But then Kesey, All the years combined. The influence of the age. Writer of the great American novel, "Sometimes A Great Notion". And old Bill Graham gone. And then Jerry, then Kesey, and this year Owsley. If that was how I remember last seeing Ken Kesey then it was as if the great northwestern hero in that short space of time was bigger than Paul Bunyan and Randle Partrick McMurphy and "The attack of the 50' Woman" all rolled into one.And this was some of the best that America had to offer in so many of her convolutions, and the Dead paid homage in harmony with Kesey and the words of EE Cummings and the words of Robert Hunter in the memory of Bill Graham and it brought it all home. The last time I saw Ken Kesey.
