    12/30
Elston64 Only got in to 28th and 30th. I thought both were really good but preferred this one. Probably due to better location this night (in front of the board). Had seats off to side and high on the 28th. Two Johnny B.'s this night as it was played in the Neville's set. Thought Garcia & Stoltz cooked on it for the Dead encore.

    Fun run
So what if I didn't get tickets to the 31st? The 28th was the best of the run, I think. Hafta dig out hte CDs to listen again. I remember interviewing the crowd after the 28th for KNON radio, though.

My only west-coast show, and the only time the Drumz jam was my #1 highlight. Of course, it was the triumphant return of Jerry (I'd seen the last pre-coma show at RFK), but Hamza el-Din sitting in to play and chant Ollin Arageed put me in a legit trance. I was not alone - it was the only time I ever heard anybody shush their fellow Deadheads - so many people on stage, so many drums, and Hamza kinda got lost in the mix. Somehow, the band migrated from the Nile delta to the Mississippi delta and the Nevilles joined in the percussion fun, resolving into Iko Iko. No Space jam, so I bet Mickey and Bill were wiped. Amazing show to share the last of the 1986 red gels with my new friends...
