We're getting a lot of folks asking where to send corrections for assorted errors they've found in the show archives. Maybe they didn't really play "Saint of Circumstance" that night. Maybe we have the band at the Meadowlands when they were really at MSG. Maybe the boys are simultaneously in Philadelphia and Phoenix. Whatever mistakes you've found, this is the place to report them. Please include this information to make it easier for the tech folks to deal with: The date and/or URL of the show in question (for example, https://www.dead.net/show/june-21-1980) A detailed description of the problem (for example, wrong town, wrong venue, no "St. Stephen," etc.) The source of your information (for example, DeadBase, notes on your tape, "Hey, I was in the front row and I'll never forget it!") Thank you! (Note: once we've made the corrections, we will delete the posts to reduce confusion and redundancy. If your post disappears, that doesn't mean we're not Grateful. Quite the reverse.)

    Found Greyfold's missing show
Greyfold couldn't find her show from the Fall of 1984 because the Brendan Byrne Arena keeps changing its name. It's listed on the website as Meadowlands Arena (which is probably a good way to identify it, given the name changes). There were 2 shows in the fall of 1984, October 17 and October 18.

Missing Dead Show: Clark University, Worcester Massachusetts
The Clark University show currently listed: http://www.dead.net/show/april-20-1969 was the Dead's second appearance at Clark University's Atwood Hall. There is documentary evidence for this in the soundboard recording, during the pre-set tuning, when someone (Phil?) announces "The last time we were here it was a total disaster." He is referring to their previous visit, probably on January 7, 1968, that was cut short by a couple of power failures. I've detailed this visit in a post on archive.org where the recording is now available: http://www.archive.org/details/gd69-04-20.sbd.lutch.4992.sbeok.shnf However, in case this disappears, I've included an excerpt (below) There was an earlier Dead show at Clark, the prior academic year, which is missing from the database. I was a Freshman in the fall of '67. The Dead made their first appearance at Atwood Hall in late '67 or early '68. They performed a lot of material from Anthem although it had not been released yet. I was sitting near the center aisle when all of I sudden, maybe 40 minutes into the set, Paul MacGalliard goes running down the aisle towards the stage. That's funny, I thought. I wasn't used to seeing Paul, a man of significant size, move so fast. I was working with the theater group, learning stage lighting, and Paul, who was a year or two ahead of me, tolerated me and taught me the ropes. Suddenly I realized that all of the little red lights on the guitar amps had gone out. The Dead had blown out the power, but I was so entranced, I didn't even notice. The stage lights were still on, they were on a different circuit. The band members all picked up percussion instruments and just kept playing. (Maybe this was not the first time this had happened). They kept jamming until Paul threw the breakers and the power came back. The Dead played a while longer until the circuits heated up and they blew the power again. It was no use, they excused themselves, and promised to come back, which they did in April of 1969. We had new power lines in Atwood, installed especially for them.

http://www.dead.net/show/december-8-1994 My last show, with buds Tom & Rob, dosed and toast, absolutely PEAKING during this (to me) unknown TWEAKY tune - Easy Answers? Yeah, that must be it. NO set list ever has it on there, and even the (passable) audience tape CD I have does not include it. But I did NOT imagine it. BTW, this would make an amazing and surprising DixPix. Check out the slow burn boogie Round&Round. Also Lucy on sad anniversary of John Lennon's untimely death. Peace&Love

I got to the first row because we didn't see the first set. The second set started with doggone and I believe that it included dancing in the streets. At the time, I wouldn't have recognized scarlet begonias, but I know NOW that it doesn't sound anything like these and it would have been an odd way to start a set. Somebody help!

Indeed, this show did take place. There are two listings for 6-6-1969; the second should be changed to 6-7-1969 as it has the set list from the Janis Lovelight night, which occurred on that date. Also, it seems there's an electric (Bobby sings) "The Green, Green Grass of Home" before the acoustic Dire Wolf which may have an additional guitarist from an opening band or something-I'm not sure.

I forgot to list my source for the 6-7-1969 info: I have a recording that unfortunately doesn't include the Dark Star>St. Stephen, and fades the Lovelight out at the 15:49 mark, probably right before a climactic ending. On my copy, there's an Uncle John's Band after the Lovelight, but I have no idea if it's the encore or if it's even from the same show.

Hey everyone, You might notice that some of the errors in this thread have been here a while without being tended to. These remain because they are unfixable at the moment. We have a rampant "date bug", as I call it. What it does is display show dates in an odd way. For example, sometimes you will see two shows listed with the same date or a show that is listed as being on the wrong day entirely. Going in and editing the date to be correct will not stick... but you can see the correct date change in the 'title' of the page... the place on your browser window that lists what the page is called. For now, that is the only place the correct date shows. Everywhere else, it displays incorrectly. We are trying to figure it out, and when we do, I will be able to delete the posts referring to these date display errors. Just so you guys know I'm not ignoring you. Cheers, A

I'm positive that the boys did Satisfaction at this show. It was my girlfriends first show. She was a UCLA student living on campus at the time. I met her in her dorm room. She had borrowed a bunch of Dead studio albums so that she would know what to expect. I told her that it wasn't going to work. She also didn't understand why I wanted to get to Pauley Pavillion early. She then learned about the show before the show. The reason that I remember Satisfaction is that she was amazed that they were doing another bands song as part of the encore. Like I said, it was her first show. There were many more after. We were married for 23 years and our oldest daughters middle name is Cassidy. Obviously, after a weekend at Ventura and New Years Eve that year, she got it.

Wrong city: The page for this show says they played The Cheetah in Santa Monica on this date. There were at least two Cheetah clubs in the country and on 6/12/67 they most likely played The Cheetah in New York City. There's a "recently discovered" poster for this show (supposedly from the "first roadie of the GD") at Vintageconcertposters.com that gives the address as 53rd & Bdwy - this is NYC. This also makes sense since the previous show was in NYC at the Cafe au Go-Go.

Some would say that the band came back out for 1 more song after a good share of the stage had been dis-assembled. So many fans just wouldn't leave. They played "The Promised Land" This is based on a review written in the local Omaha newspaper the next day. The reviewer didn't get the tile right but he called the song "The Terminal Zone" and described the situation basically as I described, with the writer's addition the the band came back out to play one last song "with feeling". I was at that show and hasily remember bits and pieces of what was described.

i allow myself to pose this rather indiscreet question.what happening? the band playing the "promised land" which by an innocent writer was interpreted as "the terminal zone"(pretty big difference)or did they come back after they allready played on a semi disassembeled stage to play a second last song with feeling......i am confused, but as this was a GD concert i would be happy to have seen it anyway...or was the writer dozed by iresponsible social elements?

The following three shows were actually performed indoors at the Seattle Center Coliseum, not at the outdoor Seattle Center Memorial Stadium. The Coliseum was where the Sonics played before the Key Arena was built. The Dead did not start playing at the outdoor Memorial Stadium until the 1990's. I was at all three of the Coliseum shows. Then came the Great Drought. For 5 years the Dead came no closer to Seattle than Eugene. Then they played 1 show at the acoustical monstrosity that is the Tacoma Dome. The last Dead show I ever saw was May 26, 1995 at the Memorial Stadium. It was my 44th birthday. http://www.dead.net/show/august-14-1981 http://www.dead.net/show/august-28-1982-0 http://www.dead.net/show/august-27-1983

The setlist is missing the Handsome Cabin Boy jam out of space. I was at the show and had the tape for years without knowing what "THAT" instrumental was. But I got to see it AGAIN out of space in '92 and knew it from the previous tape. Finally learned what it was many years later when a housemate pulled up in the driveway and it was cranking out of his car from Shady Grove. Jerry & Grisman do it instrumentally on the All Around this World disc, too, and there's an early Zappa cover on Mystery Disc. Anyway, I like it better as an instrumental. And the setlist should read: drums -> space -> Handsome Cabin Boy jam -> Playin' tease....

I am sure I remember them playing Brokedown as an encore at this show. I remember because I was hanging up at the top of the hill w/my friend Jim who was having a difficult trip & this song was so appropriate since we were both going our separate ways after the show. It was touching. I never saw him again in fact, but hope he's well.

There is no listing for the Vegas Silver Bowl show on Sat. 4-27-91...... They played 2 vegas shows that year, not just the 1 listed (4-28-91) . Both shows were strong that year, and the 1st set on 4-27-91 ended with a fine version of Might As Well, with Garcia really getting in some good yelps at the end of the tune......

You have this show listed as being at the Seattle Center Coliseum.I recall it being at tthe Seattle Center ARENA, these ar 2 different buldings on the same grounds, The Arena being an 8,000 seat venue as opposed to the 15,000 seat Coliseum. I actually recall this show pretty vividly as it was my 1st GD show and was prior to my indulgence in any sort of experience enhancing substances. This show marked me for life. I do believe the correct venue was the ARENA. Thanks Robert Swanson

I'm pretty sure Unbroken Chain was done in the set (of course, what could be certain about what went on in a Dead show.....). It was memorable because this couple up near the front started heading for the ground in full on gettin' it on mode, but the song didn't last quite long enough for them to fully consummate the deed (we considered writing the band to suggest lengthening the song in performance more often).

Sorry if I've worn anyone out already asking about this show, for which there's no apparent listing. I'm new to the site and just stumbled on this forum.Yes, May 1968. I was 19, had heard the 1st Dead album, and thought, "No big deal". We had Cream and Hendrix to keep us busy back then. The Dead came on around 1:00 a.m., I believe the last of about 4 or 5 bands in what the school called a "dance concert", though the small number of us left by then just sat on the gym floor. They did some stuff from the 1st album, much of what showed up later on Anthem, and Lovelight (to end their set, I think). I walked out dazed and happy, and a fan forever. Can the show be added to the list? It really needs to be there.

http://www.dead.net/show/march-19-1973 I did not print and compare, but the set lists look similar to 3/15/73, and the poster for the nassau run only shows dates on 3/15 and 3/16. 3/15 was my first NY show, spring break first year in college, it was amazingly electric, band was on fire, they came out wearing "urban cowboy" wear (locals were referring to as "newdie suits" or "newty", i believe an area western wear vendor.) This was the era when for the Eyes jam, they'd huddle around in a semi-circle on stage watching each other and just jam the shit out of it, The dude abides ... ,
