Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this wee we have music from three distinct periods in Grateful Dead history.
Our first stop this week is on 3/19/77 at Winterland in San Francisco, where we have this epic second set jam featuring music from albums in 1970, 1971, 1973, 1975 and 1977: Eyes Of The World > Space > Dancing In The Street > Wharf Rat > Franklin's Tower > Sugar Magnolia.
Next is the end of the second set from 3/14/82 in Davis, CA, where we have this standard, but excellent, sequence of music from the early 1980s: Ramble On Rose ; Looks Like Rain ; Althea ; Let It Grow.
Next up is the end of the show from 3/17/91 at Capital Center in Landover, MD, featuring The Wheel ; All Along The Watchtower ; Black Peter ; Around And Around, US Blues. This is the tour-opening show from an excellent tour featuring Bruce Hornsby on piano aside from the six shows in Albany and Uniondale, NY.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
