Week of April 10, 1989
Bob Weir once told me of being harassed at the border on this trip - I can't recall if it was by the Canadian or American authorities, nor whether it was on the way into Canada or back to the States - over a bag of bee pollen in his baggage. I suspect that might have something to do with Phil Lesh's hilarious introduction of the band and entourage as members of the "Jones Gang." You can also hear Garcia saying, "Freshly deported from Canada" toward the end of the routine.
