We're getting a lot of folks asking where to send corrections for assorted errors they've found in the show archives. Maybe they didn't really play "Saint of Circumstance" that night. Maybe we have the band at the Meadowlands when they were really at MSG. Maybe the boys are simultaneously in Philadelphia and Phoenix. Whatever mistakes you've found, this is the place to report them. Please include this information to make it easier for the tech folks to deal with: The date and/or URL of the show in question (for example, https://www.dead.net/show/june-21-1980) A detailed description of the problem (for example, wrong town, wrong venue, no "St. Stephen," etc.) The source of your information (for example, DeadBase, notes on your tape, "Hey, I was in the front row and I'll never forget it!") Thank you! (Note: once we've made the corrections, we will delete the posts to reduce confusion and redundancy. If your post disappears, that doesn't mean we're not Grateful. Quite the reverse.)

In between your listing of Tennessee Jed and China Cat Sunflower, I believe the Dead also played Greatest Story Ever Told. Also Sugar Magnolia ends before the (unlisted) Sunshine Daydream begins, so I'd see the two as separate tracks. I am aware that the Dead often segued from one into the other in other shows, but not here. This latter comment also applies to your listing for Sugar Magnolia on the setlist for the 10 June 1973 concert. My source for this information is a matching pair of AUD and SND recordings of both concerts, which have been doing the rounds of the torrent sites. I was using your site (thanks) as a convenient source for the track names, when I found you appeared to have missed Greatest Story Ever Told. Hope this is useful. Regards and thanks Grrr

How could this show be a protest to the Jackson State killings when they didn't occur until the 14th and 15th of May 1970? I would assume this show would be a response to Kent State which happened May 4th, and not the May 14th and 15th murders (unless the Dead has access to precognition or some type of a time machine). hmmm...

The 1968 Stony Brook gig mentioned above occurred on Saturday 4th May 1968 - ads and reviews in the SB Statesman magazine - only support mentioned was The Incredible String Band but Sarjo01 indicated there were other bands on earlier - makes sense if the Dead did indeed come on around 1am as the gig kicked off at 8PM... Regarding Deadathoner who said: > SUNY Stony Brook, Saturday, October 16th 1971 is missing from the 1971 listings. I have the ticket stub. It was a great concert. Authenticate it, if you must, just don't leave it out. Well, I've been through all the issues of the Statesman for the period and they have no ads or reviews for this - and they WOULD have had if it had taken place on that date - no, they have listed The Mothers of Invention for Oct 16 in the gym, and the next issue after that date had a photo report on that gig so it took place OK. However, that leaves the ticket stub for which I cannot account... :-(

That would probably have been October 17/18 of 84 at the Brendan Byrne Meadowlands Arena. Conversation is always more interesting than recitation, so speak your mind and not someone else's.

The Clark University show currently listed: http://www.dead.net/show/april-20-1969 was the Dead's second appearance at Clark University's Atwood Hall. There is documentary evidence for this in the soundboard recording, during the pre-set tuning, when someone (Phil?) announces "The last time we were here it was a total disaster." He is referring to their previous visit, probably on January 7, 1968, that was cut short by a couple of power failures. I've detailed this visit in a post on archive.org where the recording is now available: http://www.archive.org/details/gd69-04-20.sbd.lutch.4992.sbeok.shnf However, in case this disappears, I've included an excerpt (below) There was an earlier Dead show at Clark, the prior academic year, which is missing from the database. I was a Freshman in the fall of '67. The Dead made their first appearance at Atwood Hall in late '67 or early '68. They performed a lot of material from Anthem although it had not been released yet. I was sitting near the center aisle when all of I sudden, maybe 40 minutes into the set, Paul MacGalliard goes running down the aisle towards the stage. That's funny, I thought. I wasn't used to seeing Paul, a man of significant size, move so fast. I was working with the theater group, learning stage lighting, and Paul, who was a year or two ahead of me, tolerated me and taught me the ropes. Suddenly I realized that all of the little red lights on the guitar amps had gone out. The Dead had blown out the power, but I was so entranced, I didn't even notice. The stage lights were still on, they were on a different circuit. The band members all picked up percussion instruments and just kept playing. (Maybe this was not the first time this had happened). They kept jamming until Paul threw the breakers and the power came back. The Dead played a while longer until the circuits heated up and they blew the power again. It was no use, they excused themselves, and promised to come back, which they did in April of 1969. We had new power lines in Atwood, installed especially for them.

Greyfold couldn't find her show from the Fall of 1984 because the Brendan Byrne Arena keeps changing its name. It's listed on the website as Meadowlands Arena (which is probably a good way to identify it, given the name changes). There were 2 shows in the fall of 1984, October 17 and October 18.

I'll give credit to the post below...but I noticed the wrong title for the second song in the second set (should be "Rain", cover of the Beatles song). My source is that I was there and remember singing "Rain...I don't mind!" as well as being soaked all day in the lot. Thanks for your efforts to consolidate all of this info. - Dan On October 15th, 2008 sean smith said: The title to the second song of the second set is "Rain'. The song was put out as the b side for the single Paper back writer. "The rain song" on the other hand was a led zeppelin song, for those who would like to hear the orig. Thanks Sean

Correction to Frost August 21, 1983 set list. It show Bobby be Good as the encore, when Baby Blue was the encore, but since we were all burnt to a crisp after a rippin show that we could not leave. I kept yelling at the stage that we were still owed a Bobby be Good since we were shorted an encore at the May 13th 1983 show at the Geek in Bazzerkley. So that put's BobbybeGood as 2nd encore and the world was put back in balance since was had an encore shortage to that point. And be fore we could leave some guy broke out his silver jewelery to sell to the non mobile ones such as myself. as I said it was a rippin show and we were fried out. So I had to ask this gentleman merchant of silver one question. Do we get Ginzu stake knife's with the jewelery? So sad he said that his UPS shipment of stake knife's had not come in. Did I mention that this was a rippinshow

The latest release of 2-14-68 includes as bonus material Viola Lee Blues and GMLSG (not on the circulating tapes) and indicates they were played at this show. Any idea of the song order? Same for all the other bonus material on 2-14-68 (Road Trips Vol. 2, No.2)

Hi....I'm too lazy to go through and find out if this has been reported before but I'm pretty sure the set list for this date (March 28 1973 at Springfield Civic Center) is bogus. Source would be the several recordings of this date to be found on archive.org. I was alerted to the problem because I used to have a vinyl bootleg LP with "The Love Each Other" from a Springfield '73 show on it. When I joined dead.net I tried to find this show on here, but couldn't dig up any Springfield shows with that song in 73, or in any other early 70s show. Thought maybe my memory or notation of the Springfield '73 date on the album was wrong, but eventually I found this date on archive.org and there was the beautiful TLEO I'd remembered all these years. I thought you'd just left that one song off but closer inspection makes me think the whole set list for this date on your site is f***ed as there seem to be numerous other discrepancies. Since the set lists on archive.org all seem to match, I'm pretty sure what you have is erroneous. Keep up the great work and thanks so much for this site and all you do to keep Dead music alive and kickin'.

This isn't a biggie....but when searching under Venues you list a single New Hampshire venue: Hannover New Hampshire. Unfortunately when searching under Dates what you find is Thompson Arena (which was at Dartmouth College, in Hannover). This took some research and head scratching to find one of the concerts I attended, going back and forth through the years trying to find "Hannover" and of course it's not there. Eventually I found the Thompson Arena date that I'd remembered attending by literally going through the Dates and clicking on anything that looked possible (I knew it had been in some field house or hockey rink or something similar). The date for the concert in question was May 5 1978, but if the Dead played at Dartmouth other times in this venue I assume the "problem" would exist for those dates as well.

far as I know, 5/5/78 was not only the only show ever played in Hannover, NH, but the only show the Grateful Dead ever played in New Hampshire. if I am wrong about that, apologies, -- someone, PLEASE let me know. matter of fact, far as I know, the Grateful Dead played in EVERY state of the good o'l US of A. peace.

oh, and: setlists.net allows you to search by state, dates, years alone, so if you kind of remember which years you was touring, you can get a pretty good idea of the shows you saw and where. that is, if like me, you never really kept stubs, and have a spotty memory from some years... another cool feature, is you can search by song title, so if you are SURE you saw some song, but can't remember where, you might be able to pin it down. that can be a bit more troublesome, because you have to know the just exactly perfect title of the song.

My friend and I attended one of these two shows at The Auditorium in Chicago. He believes it was August 24th. We made a stereo cassette tape of part of the show. The notes on my tape indicate it was August 23rd, but this could be wrong. Despite what others may have posted elsewhere, for 37 years this was the only tape available of the August 24th show, and we did not make it available to anyone else before 1996. Any tapes circulating are copies of this tape. Neither of the set lists corresponds exactly to what is on our tape. Since I am not certain which date it is, and it is possible we might have not taped all of the beginning of the concert, and definitely missed the ending (an usher demanded our cassette recorder when he found out what we were doing), it is confusing, but the tape indicates these songs were played at least in this order. Since a new August 24th tape is now available, having been rescued from the Godchaux's houseboat, and the August 23rd soundboard tape surfaced as well, could someone fix these set lists? Here is what is on my tape: Mr. Charlie Sugaree El Paso Next Time You See Me Bertha Me and Bobby McGee Cumberland Blues Big Boss Man Got No Chance to Lose Her Promised Land China Cat Sunflower/I Know You Rider Casey Jones Truckin' Quadlibet for Tenderfeet Bird Song Some drumming from the space jam Not Fade Away/Goin' Down the Road Feelin' Bad Thanks! The Crystal Ballroom show was on 2/3/68, the South College Gym show was on 2/4/68. The date under the 2/4/68 show listing erroneously says 2/3/68. "Come with me or go alone, he's come to take his children home"

The Dead are listed as playing Tower Theater, Upper Darby, PA on June 24, 1967. This was 1976, not 1967, as the setlist clearly indicates. There is an entry under 6/24/76, so this entry can be deleted, if the person's comment is moved over. I realize this inverted 6>7 may be the "date bug" you refer to, but here you go anyway. Corry

I was listening to Sirius 32 and they were playing the 6/24/73 show from Portland, Oregon. The url on Dead.Net for the show is: http://www.dead.net/show/june-24-1973 I noticed something not right in the setlist early on, I tuned in at 11:13 (central time), just in time for Mexicali Blues, but I don't think they could have played: Half Step You Ain't Woman Enough El Paso Stella Blue Greatest> Bertha Mexicali That's what Dead.Net shows as the start of set one, but there's no way they could have played that many tunes in the first 13 minutes. I wasn't paying too close attention to the set until I realized that Jack Straw was playing and it wasn't listed in the set list on Dead.net at all. I cross reference the set list during the Sirius live shows because I can't wait to find out what the next song is and this way I don't have to be in suspense! They played Jack Straw before Sugaree. That is for certain. Anything before Sugaree I would double check. I wasn't paying that close attention before Jack Straw... OK, still listening to Sirius, first set complete and looks ok from Jack Straw up to the break. Jack Straw Sugaree Race Is On Row Jimmy BIODTL China Cat> I Know You Rider Around Looks like the top half of set one on Dead.net belongs in the second set. Second Set (How it was played on Sirius) Miss. Half Step You Aint Woman Enough El Paso Stella Blue Greatest Story>>Bertha BIG RIVER!! (I listen to Sirius concerts everyday with Dead.net opened to the date so I can see the set lists, but it's nice to have a gem played you weren't expecting!!!) Dark Star>>Eyes>>China Doll Sugar Magnolia Encore: One More Saturday Night So that was the second set. I don't know where Promised Land fits in, possibly set one opener, I missed it. So you need to verify the opener up to Jack Straw before Sugaree. Promised Land?? Mexicali TLEO L. L. Rain Box Of Rain Big RxR Blues Jack Straw Sugaree Looks like the show will be replayed on Sirrius if you need further verification, I'll do my best to re-listen and re-submit an accurate set list, otherwise if you have the power to grab a copy from Sirius that would be best. Next Broadcasts are: 09-03-09 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time or 09-05-09 at 3:00 a.m. Eastern Time You only have to listen for the first half-hour or so, just up to Sugaree. Hope this helps.

The song listed as "Bound in Memories" is actually on old Bluegrass song called "The Old, Old House". There is a version of Peter Rowan doing it on his CD "The Walls of TIme". Bill Monroe also recorded a version of it in the early 1960's.

Europe '72 - Rotterdam, The Netherlands - May 11, 1972 - Where exactly did the Dead play in Rotterdam? It sounds like a no-brainer, but having lived close to Rotterdam for the last 25 years, I have become aware of the fact that there is no Rotterdam Civic Hall (where the show is universally listed as having taken place). Friends who have lived in Rotterdam all their lives claim that there has never been a Rotterdam Civic Hall. So where did they play? De Doelen? That is the main concert hall complex in the city centre.

But how slipshod has the production become at RHINO? I put the last few releases into itunes, and there is never any consistency in the naming structure of the discs. Since like most folks, I create my Smart Playlist off the Album category, it's a problem when discs are not consistently named. The new Road Trips show has: one disc is just "Road Trips Vol 3 No 1" one disc called "79/12/28 Oakland Auditorium, Oakland CA-RT 3.1" and the Bonus disc is"Road Trips, Vol. 3 No. 1: Oakland Auditorium, Oakland CA 12/30/79 (Bonus Disc)" notice the lack of a period after VOL and NO, and the inconsistent semicolon. The new Garcia release has: one disc is "The Jerry Garcia Collection Vol 2: Let It Rock" the other disc is "LET IT ROCK/Keystone Berkeley, November 17 & 18 1975 Disc 2" Since DEAD NET won't let me log on because it can't figure out who I am even though they send me emails to buy stuff all the time, maybe you could post this in a new thread and see if anyone else feels the same way? I've actually got an answer for you, which is: We don't control that stuff. It is the proverbial user-generated content. iTunes pulls the information from CDDB, which is user generated. The best way to fix this is to enter the correct information in iTunes when you upload the tracks, but keep in mind that thousands of other Heads with different views of proper naming conventions are probably typing in THEIR versions. Word is that back in the day Gracenote, the for-profit company that owns the CDDB, had the brilliant notion that the record companies should pay them to enter the correct info into the system. Like many brilliant revenue schemes of Silicon Valley startups, this one didn't quite turn out that way.

According to the XM broadcast of the 10/26/71 Rochester show, there is no BIODTL between Loser and Rosas Cantinas. For academic researchers to note, too, Deadlists is lacking Jack Straw between TN Jed and Big RR Blues.
