As an artist I appreciate this. thank you. The dead community has plenty of "free" content out there in the form of tapes. There is a lot of work that goes into commercial release's and all involved deserve to get compensated for their work. It is in the fans interest so these release's keep coming. pk

because it was yet another solicitation to make an illegal copy of a commercial release by someone who apparently thought the post above did not apply to him. It does. Again, do not offer or solicit copies of commercial releases here. Such solicitations are unacceptable here and will be removed. Thank you.

I am sorry for asking this as I am sure it has been well covered, but I need to know what the best music management software is... I have about 800 live Dead/JGB CDs and about 4000 hours of tapes that I am going to start ripping/saving as wav files, but I am not sure what program is the best one to use to label everything by show, year, date, etc. I am not doing store bought stuff, just lust live recordings. I would like to buy a huge external HD to hold all of this stuff (or two or three), but would love to have a way to easily access the shows/songs. I realize I will have to do a lot of leg, er finger, work to rename the songs, dates, etc., and I am fine with that as I plan to do this over a year or so. Anyone have a suggestion?

Hey, anyone know where I can score some copies of the old Golden Road zine? Also, a friend of mine used to have this sweet hologram GD watch, I think it was the hat-tipping skeleton with the cane. I've been looking for one of these for my bro forever (he lost his) but no dice. Anyone? Oh, and hey PhilZone - copies of the oop Fillmore 69 box go for around 300 on eBay (with the bonus disc), if that suits yr wallet a little finer than 800-1000 (what scammer's been quoting you those prices??).........

Please do not solicit recordings of commercial releases, however out of print. Lots of people are bummed about the limited edition aspects of this box set, and I don't blame them, but as others have noted, a)yes, it is a limited edition and that's why people want so much for it, evidently because they think someone will pay that much (hey, I missed it myself), and b)making unauthorized copies of it or soliciting same in this forum is not okay. Sorry.

In 2004, The Dead posted one song from each show on the tour on the website for download. I just had a recent hard drive crash and lost mucho GB of live music. (I was going to backup, I swear). Most of these songs I had burned to CD, and I only need the last four songs on the tour. Can anybody point me to a download site to grab these four songs. I would prefer the unedited versions, as e-tree has a (dead) torrent with edited files. Thanks much.

The pack Had 8x10 COPIES of the photos and negs. Like I said it's a long shot but who knows possibly a Kind Oregon Head found the ground score and was able to share. Or someone remember some friend finding these. there were about 100 8x10 in the bag. So they could have touched a few Heads in the area.Aloha for reading Derek

I am looking for the 5/10/09 recording of the Dead show from earlier this year. I will trade some of my Dead for it. I attended the show, but was too "altered" to remember to purchase CD at the end of the show. If anyone knows where I can get a copy, I will be truly Grateful.

Grateful Dead signed an awesome LP to help out a charity called Rock For Kids, which helps underprivileged and homeless children.I'm a volunteer for the charity and I just wanted to get the word out there about the good work that Grateful Dead is doing. Thanks to their support and generosity, many children will get music lessons (and holiday gifts!) who wouldn't have been able to before. To see the item that Grateful Dead signed (or to bid on the item) check out this link http://bit.ly/7ILid0 http://wwwRockForKids.org

My uncle and his buddies are Original DeadHeads..... One of them has a hat that was thrown to him by Pig at Stony Brook, NY ( oct 1970 ) ..... I am seeking photos from that month that have Pig with that hat on..... From what I've gathered, the hat may have been tossed out to him during the soundcheck prior to the gig on 10.30.1970 but as everyone was in a bit of a dosed mode, and the band was much more accessible in those days, the hat may have been obtained at another moment in that day/week. any links / pix are appreciated.... Please contact me at INFO@RECORDCASTLE.COM THANKS, Barry

I need to find this vintage GD shirt that my dad always talks about! It was his favorite but he lost it a long time ago. He says it was simple, has the furthur bus on front with the skeleton and roses hanging out the window, then on the back all it says is "enjoyin' the ride". I have no clue how to find it!

For those of you who've been following this forum and wondering if anyone ever hooks up with old friends, well, yes, they do! Yesterday I saw the message that Brent's sister left and I called her. She wasn't home, but I had a nice chat with her husband and look forward to talking to Chrissy soon. I also heard from someone I'd never met who knew Brent. So if you're looking for some long lost friend, don't give up hope. They're out there somewhere! BTW I'd still love to hear from Chris Currado or anyone else who knew Brent. marj_mcc@yahoo.com

Right now I have aboput 1000 tapes in 2 large boxes in the garage. THey are free for the taking. I live in San Rafael, CA. Send me a note mpie@rccostello.com if you are interested. Best regards, Mark

ARRRRRRRRRRRRGH!! Still no luck on an Atlanta ticket, but I'm not giving up hope yet. I used to hand out miracles like candy, and now I'm hoping to have one passed my way. Of course, this miracle might come with a price (face plus) but I don't care. Taking my daughter to her first show is my goal, and I know there is a kind brother or sister out there who feels my pain and knows how special it would be for me to be able to take her while the boys are still playing. Please e-mail ME here or at my addy below. I know those who don't have an extra will still send grate vibes our way, and it is appreciated. Paul deadtender@yahoo.com (478) 283-1359 Thanks to my Jaci, every day is a GRATEFUL day!!!!

Does anyone out there know anything about a Jerry picture with him sitting by a tree behing a red house with a banjo. I have this picture with an autograph and would like to know if the signature by Jerry is authentic. Thanks All Scott sblue@eaglevillage.org

I can't tell you if the signature is real, but the pic comes from a rolling stone interview, the last one in 94 I think that date is close. I have a copy of that pic too, Jerry looking quite elderly, banjo in hand. Kinda looks like he is contimplating an old folk tune, cool pic. I'm sure someone connected with this site could steer you to the right place for authenticity.
