hi dennis , what i meant was the the cover should of had a picture of the band on both the back and front also a paper sleeve to keep the 45 in. i got a poly lined 45 bag which i have all my 45s in and placed it in a 3 mil plastic outer bag and have put the cover in a closet where it shall stay forever. i owned a real one in passable condition but sold it when i knew this was going to issued. i do know some one who has a vg++ original for sale, asking price $2.300.

Good idea about the paper sleeves. I was thinking about storing the whole series of 45's in my old (from 1962), 45 storage box. For the youth, they used to sell little carrying cases for 45's. They would have numbered dividers and stickers to put on your 45's. You'd assign each a number and list each 45 on "the card". Then when you went to the sock hop, you bring your little carrying case, with list and 45's in order! My case was stuffed with all the old 45 sleeves, even had a pure white one to put this release in! I have about 300 45's from my youth, looking thru the stuff and you can't believe some of the shit you bought. I also have a small chunk of full 45 sleeves, with no hole in the middle. Mostly they have full pictures of artist on them. Have Elvis' "Wooden Heart" and the B-Side..... "Do the Clam"! (a hit you never forget) I peeled my sticker off from on cellophane as suggested and stuck on paper sleeve also. Only concern is glue going funky on paper and making paper turn yellow, or worst seep thru paper to record inside. Maybe future releases need to come with inside paper sleeve and as Zally suggested, the paper sleeve could have pictures on each side with the info printed on it instead of a label on the cellophane. That be nice. In any event, thank you cosmic norm for you idea.

I received yesterday. My number somewhere in the mid 6,000's. Took about 4 minutes to get through, that was fast! Sounded good to me, though not sure how often I will spin this. My record label has a few bubbles or pimples on each side. I guess that is just how it is. I'm still kind of wondering how they are going to move 10,000 of these. They are not offering it a la carte yet.

Got mine today 07538 I like the cover I also have the sloppy dot on both labels. Would have liked to see the disc come with a generic sleeve as well. I put the 45 in a new sleeve that fits nicely in the cover. I also found it a good way to save the sticker - I peeled it off the plastic and put it on the generic sleeve for keeping. Was a little surprised the download code wasn't just put in the packaging too. Guess there will be an update on that later? Otherwise I dig the art work and love the use of the original label. Can't wait for the next one. Perhaps they take these suggestions into consideration down the road.

Mine came today, number 7400, ordered in first hours of announcement. I have the dimples, both sides, but they don't line up, so not there for manufacturing reasons. I think just sloppy production facility. The vinyl feels heavy, not sure how the white plastic will be on the sonic front. Sometimes picture disc or "color" vinyl can sound like shit (muddy in my experience). Anyone actually listen to vinyl copy? How's the sound quality? I like the sleeve, nice art front and rear. Like how the "number of number" was incorporated into art work. Didn't like how the sticker was attached to plastic sleeve. You want the sticker because it seems to be telling you the number of the 45 in the release. I like the idea of the information on the sticker, don't like the implementation. Not sure how else to do it. Bar Code should have been some where else on the package and not part of the id sticker. I still like the idea of this series and will continue with them. It be nice to frame and display, but I don't have room. I will probably store in gallon ziplock baggie and lay flat in climate controlled closet. How will you store yours?

It would be nice if dead.net would ensure people who buy subscriptions to Dave's Picks or the Singles, get lower edition #'s than someone who buys one later a la carte. Seems like they ship starting with the highest number first. I got 7835 or something close to that and ordered the first day. It would be nice if they even tried to issue them in order of orders received, but they're not even close.

I loved the video and it made me want to add these to my collection of over 150 unique Dead related 45's. Here is one way to see most of my collection. I made an illustrated Discography as a self published coffee table book. http://www.blurb.com/books/2920622-illustrated-discography-and-memorabi… looks best full screen. Here is a rudimentary version http://lonestardeadradio.com/vinyl.htm with that many records (many purchased by "sealed bid" from Goldmine Magazine ads in the 80s/90s How could i not add these 27 more records?? Some of my records became "Grateful 45s t shirts" a few years ago, officially licensed even :)

Stealin' (2:32) / Don't Ease Me In (2:00) - The Grateful Dead (Scorpio 201) Released in June, 1966 (possibly July, 1996) on Gene Estribou's Scorpio Records. Estribou's studio was located on the fifth floor of 737 Buena Vista West, south of the Panhandle, and west of the Haight-Ashbury district in San Francisco. The label has black lettered text on a red label. The "Stealin'" side is cataloged as "003/201" and the "Don't Ease Me In" side is "002/201". This was the Dead's first recording contract. Both "Don't Ease Me In" and "Stealin'" are credited to Garcia. The original run was about 250 singles. It was recalled soon after release, possibly because the band did not like the tracks. Pressed around the hole are a flowing-script handwritten "Commercial Recorders Inc.", lock-lettered hand-printed matrix numbers "002/201" and "003/210" (on the corresponding sides), the full song titles for each side, and a handwritten symbol that resembles two "SS" with an "L" through them. On the "Don't Ease Me In" side, the ratio between grooves and wax is about even. The recording sessions probably took place on May 29, 1966, after the band's appearance at California Hall. Also recorded during these sessions were takes of "Stealin'" (instrumental and vocals), "Don't Ease Me In" (instrumental and vocals), "You Don't Have To Ask" (vocals), "Tastebud" (instrumental and vocals), "I Know You Rider" (vocals), and "Cold Rain And Snow" (instrumental and vocals). These have been released on "The Golden Road" box set. Stealin' (2:32) / Don't Ease Me In (2:00) - The Grateful Dead (Scorpio 201) The single was bootlegged in the mid-1970s. These bootlegged versions do not have the flowing-script handwritten "Commercial Recorders Inc." text in the runout area. They only have the song titles and matrix numbers.

I appreciate you posting all this info. And the collector in me was drooling over that scrapbook you posted on line. A lot of those singles look to be very rare indeed. I am guessing that many of those song releases had to be edited somewhat just to fit on a 45. What a collection you have. I feel a lot better about this subscription now. Very much looking forward to it

Does not seem like it, at least with the TTATS box they let us know they were going to miss the ship date. ETA: since it has not even went to a la carte yet, i wonder when this will actually ship.

First off... I am ALL in favor of a hook up with whatever may be laying around the warehouse floor! That always sweetens the deal. In regards to ship dates, I looked back on my original pre-order confirmation email and the release dates were aligned with those on the web page (3/1, 6/1, 9/1, 12/1). However, when I looked up the order status online, I am now seeing the following release dates: 3/3, 5/26, 9/1, 12/1 So... if this goes according to plan, we are delayed on the first 45, but could receive our second earlier. In any event, I am still excited to get my hands on the first release.

Dear customer, Thank you for purchasing the Grateful Dead 7" Singles Collection 2017 Subscription. Due to a delay in the arrival of the “Stealin'” / “Don't Ease Me In” (Vinyl Single) stock at our warehouse, the first volume of the subscription will start shipping out on Friday, March 3rd. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience. Sincerely, Dead.net Customer Service

Should my record look like the label on both sides was applied on top of a miniscule grain of sand? Because there is a small but marked "pimple" on each side of the record.or is it in the manufacturing? Seems like there is something under the label on BOTH SIDES AnY one ELSE?

I'm tempted to peel off the label on mine and see if "the pimple" is psychoactive.

Good idea about the paper sleeves. I was thinking about storing the whole series of 45's in my old (from 1962), 45 storage box. For the youth, they used to sell little carrying cases for 45's. So more help / questions about storage. At this time I do not own a turntable so I am unable to play these. I do plan to get one. I ordered 2 sets. One to play eventually and one to keep sealed. I guess I'm just a collector of most things from this band!! So what is the best way to store these?

Climate controlled space, flat or on edge. On edge needs to be straight up and down, flat you have to worry about center being taller than edge. But I'd say climate controlled most important.

I'm also looking forward to these releases. After the Dap 22 and the Get Shown the Light collection, this will just be a cherry on top. I got this series not so much for the music but because I thought it was a great idea. Also I have a fair amount of 45's in my collection, so these are a nice addition. Glad about the limited number of records being produced, will make them extra special. I can see three years down the road people will be paying chunks of coin for the first year records and they will sell out of subscriptions in a day or two. It's a nice cheap thing to collect at the 50 buck mark and little bit of the "oh boy" factor 4 times a year. Mbarilla - Tim Truman's album cover is very nice.

i ordered 2 copies of the singles subscription 1 to 4. one came last thursday the other is no where to be seen. i should of had it by now. whats goin on here?also this is NOT the original 45 version of the single. this is in stereo both sides when the real release is in mono. why are they rewriting history. the 45 in mono has a overdub that was not on the lp version . i have attemped to contact but was told that i must wait 6 to 8 weeks before i do. the email stated that the package was at my local post office on june 1 and it still has not arrived. thats now 8 days. this is a problem with no one to fix the problem. very upsetting considering i paid in full for 2 seperate oders back in jan of this year.
