Excellent show from the Giants box. I believe it was VGUY, not that long ago, was commenting on this show (about Phil I think).

I think Phil was a bit of an MVP in the Welnick era. Many Phil-lead jams from this era are fantastic! Check out Playin>Terrapin from RFK 6/26/93 or the Terrapin from Deer Creek 93, to name but a couple.

This 6/16/91 show stands in the shadow of 6/17/91, but its a damn fine show, none the less!!

    Rock on, gang

crazy, excessive, obsessive, mournful, heartbreaking...if you haven't read it, make the time to read and gain an insider's view of an artist's life on the road

    Today, it's Baltimore 1972 Sept 17th [diP #23]
    this is the GOOD stuff

    Peace for All!

JohnSiddique - that's an incredible album. There is a superb box set that came out a few years ago called "In Search of Hades" which features all Tangerine Dreams albums for Virgin between 1973 and 1979, plus outtakes and live concerts. Included are 2 cds of outtakes from "Phaedra" which are so good they could easily have been released as official follow ups to the album in question. Highly recommended!

    Did both Charlotte shows yesterday.
Like much of this tour: really good except there seems to be one tune, every show, that has issues? And being that there getting more comfortable with the midi, they occasionally go for it and not quite hit it.
Brent had some ruff songs in Charlotte, but sounds good now on Little Light.
Ok, let’s see how this one shakes down, and then hopefully I can finish with the 25…
    Onward!

Edit: best way PF. Lol, I can’t seem to just listen to a show now, it’s like I have to hear the whole tour. Hey, it’s an obsession but it’s pleasing ; )

DBL Edit: 24th more like previous tour consistency, except somehow they FU return to PITB? And the 25th, oh yeah!
After doing this tour again, it’s easy to see why Dave picked what he has SO FAR! And yeah, this tour ain’t always clean and shiny supermodel dead, but personally I dig the looseness and overall psychedelic vibes.
Yeah I know the midi isn’t for everyone, but if they had it back in 69 you can bet they’d have been into it. And yes this tour isn’t quite as tight, on all fronts, as spring 90, or even much of summer tour, but that’s why it stands out to me, in a good way.
Oh, and lest you get turned off by the vocal centric arc mixes…MULTITRACK!
These can be significantly cleaned up!
Listen to how good Nightfall and Miami sound…

I am going to listen to each of the September 90 MSGs in sequence.

I am very glad 9/16/90 was released as a Dickus Pickus. I am really looking forward to hearing that again.

Hey All, Been milling around in the Red Clay and Straight Life recordings. These are Freddie Hubbard's Masterpieces. The musician line up on these sessions are excellent. Highly recmmended and a fine way to take a break from the Dead...

12/6/73. Kind of a meandering one, that doesn't necessarily get to the point until the 37-minute mark. I think it's good to not have much of an agenda sometimes. Eyes of the world kicks in and is smokin' good. Killer Here Comes Sunshine. Why do so many great shows come out of Cleveland?
