Outdoor Show Is So Much Different
I think this must have been my first outdoor show. I remember being really close to the stage and wondering why I used to like the 10,000 Maniacs in high school. I remember dancing to the Dead and loving the view of the stage, but then something got into my head. I think I left before the very end, which now seems outrageous, but it was some kind of head trip I was on. I believe that I thought I needed to find nature, so I walked up to this wooded area a little ways away from the stadium. This guy named Frank was there who was also there for the show and also tripping. He was very odd and a local. Anyway, looking back, I didn't know what I was missing, because certainly I could have visited the trees anytime, but seeing the Grateful Dead that particular day was a once in a lifetime experience!
