    My last show....I think
It was a great show....if you go to YOUTUBE and search for "I know you rider" (MSG 9/20/90......you can get an idea of how powerfull the jamming and crowd interaction was. I went to this show with my miserable wife (now ex) and she just never really "understood" I'm pretty sure this was my last show. I was fed up with the commercialism, stadiums, loud talking during drums and space.....and losing Brent...was very difficult. Fuck MSG----give me three nights at the Capital Theater anyday.

    A great run
Even though it was a long week, this show was a great way to end their run at msg.

I near about hit the roof when they started it after Drums. It got into scary stuff during some Space parts in the middle. First post-Brent China/Rider I think and it was a hot one. Bummed this wasn't the Dick's Pick choice from this run. Too long maybe?

Hey now!The China Rider for this show is just amazing, for a number of reasons: 1. Phil's bass line march during the transition jam, this may be his best playing ever in the 90's 2. Bobby's playing leading up to Rider, he shines with confidence and truly controls the flow of the jam 3. Jerry's celestial playing during China Cat (how regal) and when he just plain explodes when he takes his solo during Rider 4. Bruce's phrasing, he has some amazing licks during Bobby's verse of Rider (seriously, check this out) and is never in the way of what Jerry and the rest of the guys are accomplishing 5. Vince doens't get in the way either, and actually plays a nice little run during the transition- he plays what he needs to play for color and lays out when the big guns fire up 6. Billy is just plain dancing, when you listen to this on headphones and follow Billy around it is quite a rush 7. Mickey fuels the fire, he totally plays a supporting role on China Cat and adds wonderful color to Rider The rest of the show is white hot as well, but the China Rider is just plain nuts. The Truckin' to open the second set is inspired, and the BE Women has a nice long jam. And oh yeah, they play that little romp post drumz. If anyone has a copy of this I can do a B&P for please let me know, I seem to have deep sixed my copy of this show... Lay your ears on this show- it is one of the great ones!!!!! Eric S. Crazy good show, why Dick L. released 9.16 instead of this insane rock concert, is beyond me. But its easy to be a monday morning vault expert. “The Omnipotent Grateful Dead!”

Check out Bruce's lilting run during Althea. I still get goose-bumps every time I hear it. It is abundantly obvious that Bruce's presence raises Jerry's game to the next level too.

This was my first show and was amazing. I never went to any show that was anywhere near as fun. Best Truckin, China-Rider. All of the above comments are right on. My friend brought me to this show even though I wasn't a fan and the beginning of the second set has me listening 18 years later.

Went in by train listening to how they were the night before. Had a yearnin' for China Cat > Rider. First set was very enjoyable. Song selection surprising and satisfying. Really enjoyed the piano and Hornsby. Pleasantly surprised by Truckin' and thought China/Rider would be for next time, but then..... Didn't know it at the time but after this show it was a slow, steady decline for me in the quality of the performances. I tried to catch them with Bruce as much as I could.

Not much to be said one of the two BEST SHOWS that I REMEMBER !!! They were HOT & KNEW IT. The band kept playing on. This show and Giants Stadium in "93" are my two favorite memories. Of course I don't remember much from the 72,73 & 74 Roosevelt Stadium shows. But I have the 73 show on Dicks Picks. THE BOYS WERE EXPLOSIVE ALL NIGHT !!!
