what's that Stanley? A request....ok... Now on K DED a little change of pace.... I was in New Jersey visiting the town of Trenton About a 3000 mile swim from Great Britain But please don’t try to swim it I was just kiddin' The water’s too cold and most whales don’t like to be ridden Anyway I was just there for a little house sitting On a cold winter day that almost left me frost bitten Then I saw on the wall a note that my friend had written Beware of Cocoa the cute little coo coo calico kitten I was sitting in the living room a really nice room to sit in But it had a big hand made blanket that didn’t quite fit in It must have been made by someone who really likes knitting But probably not Cocoa the cute little coo coo calico Cocoa the cute little coo coo calico kitten Cocoa the cute little coo coo calico kitten It’s for her this silly song was written Cocoa the cute little coo coo calico kitten I didn’t know that Cocoa was under the blanket hidden Till suddenly she jumped out and ran towards me unbidden Then she jumped up and pounced my hand and it got bitten By Cocoa the cute little coo coo calico kitten If I had only known it was coming I would have worn a mitten If I could find one that my hand would fit in It didn’t really hurt I’m the first to be admitting The bite from Cocoa the cute little coo coo calico kitten I said I know you’re just playing but biting me is forbidden My hand’s not something your teeth should be putting a dent in If they weren’t so sharp then maybe I’d be permitting A bite from Cocoa the cute little coo coo calico kitten Chorus She was so cute that soon I was totally smitten She looked like a cat that I had once the image was spitting She was so crazy when she played that my laughter was side splitting Because of Cocoa the cute little coo coo calico kitten Then I looked at the time and saw how late it was getting My house sitting was done, it was time for me to be quitting I said you are a cat that I won’t soon be forgetting And I hugged goodbye Cocoa the cute little coo coo calico kitten Cocoa the cute little coo coo calico Cocoa the cute little coo coo calico Cocoa the cute little coo coo calico kitten

Another week gone...almost.... ba dus been on autopilot all night... No worse for the wear.... Coffee is on and it is the best brew ever....something from the Philzone... Thanks for bringing in the paper Sarge....anything interesting? (This is the dog talking....now) I read the news today, oh boy About a lucky man who made the grade And though the news was rather sad Well I just had to laugh I saw the photograph. He blew his mind out in a car He didn't notice that the lights had changed A crowd of people stood and stared They'd seen his face before Nobody was really sure If he was from the House of Lords. I saw a film today, oh boy The English army had just won the war A crowd of people turned away But I just had to look Having read the book I'd love to turn you on. Woke up, fell out of bed, Dragged a comb across my head Found my way downstairs and drank a cup, And looking up I noticed I was late. Found my coat and grabbed my hat Made the bus in seconds flat Found my way upstairs and had a smoke, Somebody spoke and I went into a dream. I read the news today oh boy Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire And though the holes were rather small They had to count them all Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall. I'd love to turn you on. All you Santa Clara dreamers...dance and twirl....and please wear tiedye so when I watch the webcast, I can put shirts and dresses with names, will make finding you all in Chicago easier....btw I'm the guy in the tiedye pinstriped zootsuit.... As a public service announcement, one of our riders needs well wishes and happy thoughts sent their way...if you are so inclined....please do so....thanks from the driving wheel....

Sweet - desolation blvd! (not row) Oh.... bus driver, it was me. She was the one who fell out the back earlier. I got a soft spot for her, ya know. I let her back on the bus 'cause boy can she run. All she had to do was start walking backwards (back towards the bus), open her mouth, start bellowing yeah yeah yeeeeeaaaaahhhh (as in Playin in the band), and all that hot air coming out rocketed her back into the back bumper in seconds... ...it was at that moment (since I was sitting in the back) that I flopped the back window open, grabbed her with both hands and flung her into the back seat. Luckily for me the jolt of me grabbing her caused her to close her mouth and we were able to resume the bus ride without incident. Had she kept her mouth open...well, use your imagination.

Tom...glad you're back on the bus. Klangstone stole the keys and left a holy mess though. I'll take the wheel for a few weeks, we also have Miami on board. Gonna drop Mr. Fonts in Atlanta tomorrow. We will be in Burgettstown before you know it, SPAC and shithole arena in Camden on the radar. Citi still a hope and a dream. No Chicago here, re. Wrigley....after FTW I swore off of massive cattle call shows. Smaller venues and Vegas and Cap Theater Phil for me from now on. Take care, love to you and yours... Dammit Klangstone take your donut boxes with you next time....

no one stole any dus...Our west coast mayor was duly authorized to drive on the west coast shows, and he left the dack of ba dus pretty clean. The snacks were labelled clearly, unfortunately, bogs can't reab and next thing you know was Sarge got ahold of that ziplock of drownies, he tore into the dox of bonuts and left a royal mess. Ralph said he would take care of the mess, but then the psychedelic squirrels showed up wanting directions back to FTW, and one thing led to another. Just wanted to set the recorb straight, so no-one started a recall movement or anything. Peace, and be kind Ralph.

Hey now and greets, y'all from the ATL. After a 3 outta 4 screamin' sets in Mountain View (Sun nite set one was awful), the boys are now east and we'll be at Lakewood Amphitheater tomorrow night. Weather looks to be cooperating so fingers-crossed they come in ready to serve-up some good ole southern hospitality. BTW, Sat nite at Boulder was amazing. FOD on acoustics - LOVED IT!!!

Great show, got an Easy Wind, Throwing Stones and a belated Flag Day Liberty. Highlight was Lil John doing his best David Lindley falsetto Stay imitation on The Wheel. Only gripe Pennsylvanias 5 0. For Chrissakes, you think El Chappo was in attendance. What a bunch of tools. ASL and Roadking, Enjoy Fenway kids! as an aside, a few weeks ago on another subform my concern that setlists have stagnated since 10/2015.... To quote Rosanne Rosanadana...."nevermind"

Hey rgerrgelis et alii, Glad to hear the feared cloud of stagnation is lifting so more and more spontaneity can seep into Dead & CO '17. You could tell from the nugs tease last night that Burgettstown was going new places (I'd love to hear the whole show). And those Boulder shows were definitely high in the Rockies. Looks like a few clouds may keep temps down in Boston so y'all can better meld with the music. Onward Daydreamers!

Onward y'all! BTW: Bit the bullet and got a brand new Oat Cart last week with mucho mas "After Midnight Oat-age". Just love that "new cart smell!"

A good time was had by all, in spite of the lawn area being oversold by three-fold, in my opinion. And the brief summer shower, even as the horizon cleared for the sunset, came just as Bobby reached the crescendo on Looks Like Rain; perfectly timed. As a 50th birthday present we brought some friends to their first exposure of any kind to this world. They had a blast. And made so memorable for the incident of the friendly fellow who approached us early in the first set and asked if he could leave his Birkenstocks under our beach chairs. We then proceeded to share some of what he grows himself, and did not see him again until the end of intermission. He was OVERJOYED to find us and his sandals. Our friends now have an indelible impression of the nature of interactions between Heads. By now you will have heard of the continuing modifications to the treatments of the old song pairs: China and Rider as bookends to the set rather than a doublet: anything is possible. And what Mr. Mayer did with Deal was epic. EP-IC.

Thanks for sharing Graceful Tom. Those kind of tales just don't come across in the streams & downloads. What a just exactly perfect 50th BD celebration for your lucky friends – sounds like they're now on the bus. And speaking of "bus", where's Geomeister? Anybody spot him at any of the shows? To everybody in Bristow, enjoy the ride tonight. Looks like it'll be cooling off by showtime and the rain will hold off til after midnight (but who'd notice anyway!) Onward!

Yeah, I saw flashes.Or heard. Or something. Before the Camden show the band wrote on Twitter “You know what they say about Sunday shows.” Everyone was waiting for Samson, as on the previous 3 Sundays: didn't happen. But Brokedown Palace has now been played 3 times, each as a Sunday encore. Hmmm.. To me there is no mistaking "They Love Each Other" as a Sunday-theme song. And maybe it's a stretch, but Big Boss Man is fitting. But what about those stained-glass themed graphics? I would not know if they have been used all summer, but it did not seem like a a coincidence.

What a spot on post....the past two nights were magical, something about this band has changed, it has truly evolved...they are no longer the cover band I thought they would become, they have carried these songs we all know to a new level. I thought for sure set 2 first beats was going to be Samson....but Iko with Cowboy Bob on tambourine? C'mon.... TLEO touched my heart....as did the Brokedown encore.... ...never miss a Sunday show, indeed.....

I'll just have to listen after the Wheel's covered just a little more ground. Have a blast and remember "The Pic-A-Nic", whatever that means . . . Onward.

Jeff I streamed entire show from the recliner. It was a marathon where second set more than compensated for the first. A 17 minute Sugaree that made me feel like I was wading thru a sea of Vaseline, but that could have been the marijuana minutes kicking in. Bobby walked off stage mid UJB reprise to end first set, and sort of apologized for it. Bertha was as tasty as new coke can be. I have to stop comparing this iteration to any prior though, as you well know "nothing compares to the real thing". I really, really miss Jerry. He's the real thing, baby. Hey Miami, Happy Birthday have a great show, you know its gonna get stranger.

I really enjoyed the entire show. Bertha still makes me dance every time i hear it.My wife reminded me how much I disliked shakedown street when the vinyl LP came out in 78 or 79. It is one of many songs that I didn't really "get" until I heard it live. Love it now. Oteill on China Doll was excellent. Let Oteill sing, indeed. Can't really think of a low point...music never stopped was just OK in my opinion, if i had to single out something. I really liked STOM. I watched STOM from 7-4-15 right after...gotta say, preferred last night's version. I liked what they did with Me and my uncle. everything.
