    Damn, I wrote a book!
Forgot to mention, I still have my Tshirt from the show but it got so worn you can see through it. I'm keeping it to be buried in.

My first show too, how cool!
A couple of friends and I drove from Nashville to Philadelphia for what was my first Dead and/or Dylan show. I had just interviewed for and been offered a job with a new company, and the owner had wanted me to start right away. I told the owner I couldn't start that soon, since I was going out of town. He asked where, I said Philadelphia, he asked why (not interrogating me, just conversational) anyway, he asked why, and I mumbled the response "to go see Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead in concert". I kinda mumbled it because hey, I had just accepted this new job and didn't want to screw it up. The owner said "Bob Dylan? I LOVE Bob Dylan!!!" I brought him back a button or something, he was pleased. When we went in the stadium the ticket-taker didn't tear my ticket, which I thought was cool since I wanted the souvenir, but my experienced DH friend made me pass the ticket to somebody outside the fence. Grrr. I got separated from my friends within minutes of getting in the stadium, which was unfortunate since I was the one that was "holding", as they say. I found out later my friends immediately headed to the stage, and spent most of the show near the front. I got distracted by the hippie girl of my dreams, and we danced for a little before she kissed me and disappeared. The crowd on the stadium floor was deep, and hot. I had to move to the back of the crowd, and ended up sitting on the top of the back wall of the stadium, to the right of center as you face the stage. Sat up there and tossed contraband at people, so if you were outside the stadium and a small cylinder of "contraband" hit you in the head, that was me. You're welcome. After the show I met up with my friends again, like magic. I was hooked.

My first show! I'm near the front of that mass of people, around 90,000, I believe. I was about 50 feet from the stage, dead center. Wow, what a day! Thank you for the picture, unkljohn.

My second show and travelled from Wilm., DE w/ friends from work. The car broke down and walked from the bridge to JFK. Go right from gate to floor-- underneath the A-frame showers; during which song? "Looks Like Rain!" Ahhh. Sweet symbolism. What's this? A combined first and second set... Dylan appears in a red robe and black barrett. Tangled-up! Unbelievable. Jerr on the peddal steel for the next song.... Fireworks in front (almost on top of me) for the Touch encore. What a hot show for such a sweltering day! The only bummer was hearing the start of the show on MMR from the bridge sitting in a loooong line of traffic (which began by Crozier Chester Hospital). As I recall, MMR played the Europe '72 Jack Straw as the Dead launched into Jack Straw at JFK. After all that, I still managed to see Larry by the line for the Omish fries! Such a great summer. Many thanks :) --Brandon
