Grateful Dead

Attended both shows that summer at RFK. Totally thrilled to get to see it on screen again the other night on Jerrys birthday !

I was in Thailand at that time, on vacation from my job as Art Director for Beijing Scene (an English-language newspaper). I attended all three Bob Weir-Matthew Kelly shows.

Stage from left, showing Cal Expo on a nice May evening, first set in the sun, second set after dark. Miss this place. Neighborhood nearby voted to close venue because of noise, today they built a 2000 seat soccer stadium, maybe we can get Dead and Company back someday.

I am a Los Angeles based concert photographer and I was fortunate to photograph the Dead and Company show on 12/30/15 at the Forum. This is one of my favorite shots from the night. My first time on the rail at any flavor of Dead show. Approximately 2.6 miles closer to the stage than my seat at Fare Thee Well on 7/3 ;-)Up close or back in the balcony, ain't no place I'd rather be.

Front row, middle two seats that my friend and I got by luck of the draw at a ticket outlet. I wasn't sure if cameras were allowed in to Richfield (found out later that they were) so this was taken with a disposable camera "smuggled" in past security.
