    Grateful Dead Hour no.509

    Week of June 22, 1998

    Got a request to revisit the wonderful "Weather Report Suite" from Missoula '74. I like this one so much I've played it on the GD Hour twice, in 1994 and 1998. Definitely worth hearing again and again!

    A HORSE NAMED BILL

    Grateful Dead 5/14/74 Adams Fieldhouse, U of MT, Missoula
    PRELUDE->
    WEATHER REPORT pt. 1->
    LET IT GROW->
    DARK STAR->
    CHINA DOLL

    Every Wednesday, we post a program from the Grateful Dead Hour archives for your enjoyment and enlightenment. You can browse or search the playlists at gdhour.com or on the GD Hour Search page, and let me know what program(s) you'd like to hear by emailing me at gdhour@dead.net.

    Thanks for listening!

    not sure what your problem is as it's been sitting there in the nav bar on the homepage (The Latest) for days. It's here:http://www.dead.net/features/grateful-dead-hour-no-549

    What a nice treat. #509 is a keeper. The China Doll out of Dark Star is particularly special. It was strange to hear it sung without Jerry in this recent May's Dead show in Denver - BUT...it brings back such good memories that I was so glad they played it.

... I think this would be a nice show to put up on the Sirius satellite, that is if it's OK with the PTB... and there's enough of it in the vault... thank you David, and continue to get well !!

That horse named bill.... What a treat!!! Never heard that before.... And for me.... well the Weather Report.... and staring into that hard rain that is going to fall again here in Oregon... Just hate to see summer and the road trips end.... Not looking forward to the Oregon dark cold rainy winter... But yes... We will see summer come again... Thank you for posting this one... Thanks David and I hope your mending heart continues along the Golden Road. Can't imagine this scene without your contributions. "...evolution withdrew its gift, passed civilization by, rescued the planet from intelligence and handed it to Love." ~ Richard Bach

Great cut from Not for kids only .. The maturity of the Deads playing in Missoula that night in 1974 is outstanding . I heard your live Dead hour this week here in the southern hemisphere , and we could hear it loud & clear . Greek theatre material including a sweel China cat / rider peace * The US s eastern time is the same as Chile s . So at 9 p.m. if Im near a cputer I ll be trying to hear your program . Thanks

I dunno what my problem is either, cause it's still definitely not on the nav bar and when I paste in the link you posted I get the dreaded "blue smurf" message! I can't even find it on the GD Hour list.

because it's working like a champ for me. It's there on the GD Hour list too, I just checked. Only thing I can think is that your browser's loading a cached page. See if clearing your cache helps. Meanwhile, I'll go see if the tech folks have any thoughts on the subject.
