Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have music from 1978, 1989 and 1994.
Our first selection is the start of the second set from 2/4/78 in Milwaukee, a very good show sandwiched between two great shows in Mdison and Cedar Falls. From Milwaukee, we have Samson And Delilah ; Dupree's Diamond Blues,; Dancing In The Street > Terrapin Station> Playing In The Band.
Next up is the end of the first set from 2/7/89 at the Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center in Oakland, featuring a couple of brand new songs to start things off. Just A Little Light, Standing On The Moon ; Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again ; Bird Song. The lyric for Just A Little Light included the line “it could be just another mule deer…” before it was changed to “whitetail” later in 1989. As an east coast native, I'm partial to whitetail deer, so I was happy with the change.
Our last selection is from 10/1/94 in Boston, featuring the entire first set, Help On The Way > Slipknot! > Franklin's Tower ; Walkin' Blues; Althea; Me And My Uncle > Big River; Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues ; So Many Roads ; The Promised Land. The DAT source from which this came has a little bit of digital noise, but rest assured the vault master DAT is in great shape.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
