Collabrator galore
Jim is awesome, sparklin' awesome, I have seen in with his bluegrass band, with his country band, and solo not to mention with other folk.
Dreamin' of the day he does some shows with Hunter live.....or just more songs.
First Hunter/Lauderdale collaboration was Joy Joy Joy and I Will Wait For You on I Feel Like Signing Today just got me a copy this year. Was released with Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys at the tail end of last century.

Especially if you like what could be superficially called Hunter's Americana side--Workingman's, for example--there's really a lot to love about this stuff.
"Headed for the Hills" has a raft of fabulous guest artists also. I'm too lazy to haul it off the shelf right now, but I seem to recall Gillian Welch and Emmylou Harris and...

Have to admit Jacob's Ladder was my hook, next thing I knew I headed south to TN 'fore my own lil' Lauderdale tour. Ended with quite an extensive collection.
He has to have a personal tailor or two.....
A solo performers go, I am always blown away, I mean off in the wind at his shows.
He has a new video out off Bluegrass for the song Who's Leaving Who? I do believe.

Earlier, she'd said all she could get Jim to commit to for a release date was "sometime this spring." Anyway, keep your eyes open--

Six years? Patchwork River is a fine collaboration - if you don't know this disc and you're jonesin' for some Robert Hunter, not to mention the singing of Jim Lauderdale, it is going to bend your ear in a big way. Lots of cool help laying down ripping leads and tear-inducing steel, too.Got to say this is a timeless release.
So we're up to Soul Searching: Memphis, Vol.1/Nashville, Vol.2. I loved I'm A Song, does anyone know Soul Searching?

At this point I think maybe Robert Hunter actually wrote more songs with Jim Lauderdale than anybody else? Including Jerry? So many great ones, too! Patchwork River, Taking the Rap, Throw My Bucket Down, Thirteen Clocks, Sandy Ford, Fiddler's Heaven, Troublemaker, Lovelorn Rover, Memory, Good Together, Louisville Roll, Turn to Stone, and Reason and Rhyme are some of my favorites, only to name a few!
