Yes, as Mark said, there is a population boom due to the interest in the upcoming tour. I have seen a few new names. I am not sure what the mortality rate is. One who fits this category is this guy (I would not name him here) who was after me on some vine. He got skipped after 2 weeks of not responding, and then over a month later, he PMs me 5 times within an hours time asking for the vine. When I read his messages the next day, I was like "hey man, hold on just a sec." I told him he was skipped but that I would help him get back in line. I spent some time tracking down the location of the vine and wrote the guy back as a courtesy saying ok--I've located it, do you want back in? I never heard back. Too bad as that was a killer vine. Anyway, I forgot what my point was so I will stop here. :-) "I do believe in spooks, I do believe in spooks, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do"--Lion Wizard of Oz

is 1/22, the anniversary of a famous show. Anybody else correlate dates to Dead shows, you know, 5/8, 8/27, 10/29, 12/29? So put off working on reducing the shows in your queue for one day and pop in the superb 1/22/78 tomorrow!

I'm betting '74, but maybe '72 or '75. We could have close to a 365 entry list if we made a list of days that featured great Dead shows, 366 in leap year.

Yes Arkdeadhead, excellent show. Walking in and seeing the immense wall of sound was unforgettable. My brother was one who sent in the postcard in the skull & roses lp, so he was sent all the promo ep's and newsletters and so we saw all the diagrams of the wall before we went, but it when you saw it in person, you just stood there in awe, and then, wow, the sound,so clear, went right through you.

every other sound system I saw that summer of '74. CSNY & ABB toured that summer and neither was in the same auditory ball park, or even time zone. The clarity and sheer movement of the air by Phil's bombs were enough to push you backward in your seat. Sitting back in the audience, it was like putting some little toy 'guys' in front of the TV set. It was visually overwhelming, but sonically it really kicked some serious ass. Waaaaayyyyyy, ahead of it's time. Just like the band ;o} The Truth is realized in an instant, the act is practiced step by step.

12/6/73 as a small audio vine - mainly for the here comes sunshine. Here's what the liner notes say... "First set highlights include TLEO, Row Jimmy, GSET and China Cat > Rider. The Here Comes Sunshine times almost 16 minutes, is the longest known on circulating tape and probably the best. The Dark Star is the third longest known at 43:28, and one of the all time best. It is thefraternal twin of 11/11/73".

that while Stuman's idea of putting the explanatory text in the Vineyard header is an excellent one, I tried and the result was not pretty. It didn't appear anywhere useful, like on the Vineyard page, and where it did appear, on the Forums page, it didn't exactly fit. So I did the next best thing. I put a line in the header steering new viners here. Hope it helps.

I have only seen 10/13/94 being vined. While this was a tremendous show, fun from startto fnish, I am wondering about why the other shows in this run are not vined. Does everybody have great copies, except me? I would really like to be able to re-experence: 10/1/04 Boston Mass 10/2/94 Boston Mass 10/10/94 Landover Md 10/14/94 NY NY If I have missed something, wuold someone pm me, and fill me in to where I should be looking? And if these are not going to show up in the vineyard, can somebody help me out personally? The only shows I have to offer as trade, are from the vines here on dead.net . Thank you to the keepers of the music f.i.

At the end of Dark Star during Lesh's solo, there is some mic crackle (overload?) for 5 secs. In Sugar Mag at 4:08, there is a sound cut in, maybe a mixing problem. I've only listened to disc 3 super critically. Enjoy 9/12/73 College Of William & Mary Williamsburg, VA SBD>MR>C>DAT>CDR Disc One Set I //Bertha Mexicali Blues Brown Eyed Women El Paso Don’t Ease me In Looks Like Rain Beer Barrel Polka equipment break Ramble On Rose Me & My Uncle Bird Song Jack Straw Set II Loose Lucy Big River Disc Two Set II (Continued) Row Jimmy Let Me Sing Your Blues Away * Weather Report Suite Prelude > * Weather Report Suite Part 1 > * Let It Grow * Around & Around Eyes Of The World > Stella Blue Beat It on Down the Line Casey Jones E) One More Saturday Night * With Martin Fierro & Joe Ellis on Horns notes: The first 5 tunes of Set I suffer a variety of flaws due to equipment problems and a degraded MR. Bertha has a tough start and nastiness at 03:53 that lasts for 30 secs El Paso has a glitch at 00:14 Here Comes Sunshine is missing altogether In spite of the burps, hiccups and farts, this show is worth a listen. This would be in both Audio CD and SHN/FLAC format. While the 2nd show has some technical difficulties, it is still worth listenin' too!

4/7/85 and or 4/8/85' . Those shows kicked ass. 4/7 with the annual Philly Shakedown and 4/8 opens Midnight Hour->Walkin' the Dog and second set Revolution->Bucket. It is a great Bobby show. I would love to add quality recordings of those shows to my collection. "I had a hard run, runnin' from your window."

Jackie Greene Band December 31,2008Bill Grahamn Civic San Francisco, CA Thanks to Lou for taping this show and providing this source for all to enjoy. Shure SM89 condenser shotguns>Marantz 670 on 10 foot mike stand right of soundboard in taper section 16 bit 44.1 WAV>Edirol R-09>Soundforge for slight editing Disc 1 01- Farewell, So Long, Goodbye 02- Nothing Comes From Nothing 03- Don't Let The Devil Take Your Mind 04- Closer To You 05- Shaken 06- Tell Me Mama, Tell Me Right 07- Animal> 08- Parchment Farm 09- Another Love Gone Bad 10- Like A Ball & Chain Artist: Bill Kreutzmann / Papa Mali / Hutch Hutchinson / Matt Hubbard Date: 29 December 2008 Venue: Charlie's Location: Paia, Maui, Hawaii Lineage: Audio Reality binaural mics > Sony MZ-RH1 (HiSP 256kbps) > Sonic Stage to PC/WAV > Cool Edit Pro (tracking & some minor patching of dropouts in set 1) > flac This show was billed as an acoustic concert. It turned out to be much the opposite! The show was scheduled to start at 10pm but the music was already playing when we got to Charlie's around 9:30. I started recording as soon as we got into the venue so the jam>Deal soundcheck is missing the first part of the jam. In fact, Hutch hutchinson wasn't there for the beginning either. He came through the crowd to get up onstage, unpack his guitar and then the band rolled into Deal. If you're putting this on cd, the encore (set2t13) can be paired up with the soundcheck tracks on a third CD. Charlie's in Paia is basically a bar/restaurant. In the area where the band sets up, the bar runs along the entire length of the room. As a result, this show has crowd noise throughout but is generally overpowered by the music (the music was LOUD)! A few local musicians joined in at the beginning of set 2 on sax and fiddle. They were not introduced so I can't give you their names. I'm not that familiar with the names of Papa Mali's tunes so if anyone can help with the setlist, please do. Setlist: Set 1 01 ? 02 jam 03 ? 04 Who Do You Love 05 ? 06 jam (reminiscent of "Long Distance Runner") 07 Hallelujah 08 Death Don't Have No Mercy 09 Bertha Set 2 01 jam (reminiscent of St. Stephen) > 02 I Kow You Rider 03 Mr. Charlie jam (aborted) > 04 Ain't No Sunshine 05 Keep Happy 06 ? 07 jam 08 (noodling) 09 California?? 10 Feel Like Going Home (instrumental) > 11 Bottle Up And Go > 12 Feel Like Going Home Encore - Bertha Soundcheck jam > Deal - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Spanish Jam

Good catch Bob - I tried to check and re-check the vinedex but still missed the 9/12 show. We can either post it as 9/11 only or I can enhance the offering... "when life looks like easy street, there is danger at your door"

A small audio vine (3 cd's - fast & clean) Grateful Dead 12/6/73 Cleveland Convention Center, Cleveland, OH Source: SBD Lineage: S:MR > Cassette > DAT > CD > EAC > SHN Seed provided by Seth Kaplan through Alan Fink: Thanks guys! Slight retracking (CDWav) by G.S. Hamilton Note: Disc 3 requires an 80 minute disc Disc 1 Set 1 1. Bertha 6:25 2. Mexicali Blues 3:27 3. Loser 6:27 4. Black-Throated Wind 6:55 5. They Love Each Other 5:19 6. Beat It On Down The Line 3:17 7. Deal 4:52 8. El Paso 4:26 9. Row Jimmy 9:09 10. Greatest Story Ever Told 5:37 Total time: 55:58 Disc 2 Set 1, cont. 1. China Cat Sunflower > 9:15 2. I Know You Rider 5:30 3. Around And Around 5:06 Set 2 4. Ramble On Rose 7:04 5. Me And My Uncle 2:58 6. Stage Talk 0:56 7. Here Comes Sunshine 15:43 8. Big River 4:48 Total time: 51:23 Disc 3 Set 2, cont. 1. Dark Star > 43:27 2. Eyes Of The World > 13:57 3. Stella Blue 9:21 4. Sugar Magnolia 9:33 Total time: 76:21 Jim Powell's notes: There are conflicting reports whether the SBD master is on cassettes or reels, but it sounds like it would have to be reels. The last 26 seconds of Here Comes Sunshine is missing on our copy of the SBD and is patched in using an AUD master from a cassette copy of unknown low generation. 22 seconds in Eyes Of The World are patched from this AUD source also. The 22-second cut in Eyes looks like a cassette tape flip introduced when the reels were transcribed to 1st gen cassette. The missing conclusion of Here Comes Sunshine is harder to account for on this hypothesis, but there seems a reasonable chance that both missing segments are intact on the master reels. First set highlights include TLEO, Row Jimmy, GSET and China Cat > Rider. The Here Comes Sunshine times almost 16 minutes, is the longest known on circulating tape and probably the best. The Dark Star is the third longest known at 43:28, and one of the all time best. It is the fraternal twin of 11/11/73. Dave Greenberg did the patches. David Gans supplied DATs of the 1st gen cassette SBD and Jim Powell instigated the project, supplied the AUD cassette used to patch the SBD's defects, and wrote this note.

I am helping Trevor (thatnicehippyguy) out with some early '69 that he received from another source. Assuming the sound quality is up to snuff (I am going to listen to the shows first), we are going to do a 2 part vine here. Part 1 will include 1/17, 1/24, 1/25, 1/26, 2/2, 2/4, 2/5, 2/6 and 2/7, plus another DVD-full of shows from February and March. Part 2 will include more shows from March and April. Cross your fingers and look back here in a week or two.

Actually it will be more than 2 parts because I dont have a dvd burner and dont want to send that many cd's all at one time. dstache will seed the first part (hopefully if everything works out). Then I will seed several smaller audio vines of shows from March and April. This should be fun!! "You know the one thing we need is a left handed monkey wrench....."

This is a proshot video of Brent's last show 7-23-90. The video is from cameras on stage taking shots for the big screens directly above the band. The audio source is a soundboard. DVD 1 (1st set) Cold Rain and Snow Picasso Moon Good Times Blues Stagger Lee Cassidy Truckin>Nobodies Fault Jam>Smokestack Lightning DVD 2 (2nd set) Victim or the Crime>Foolish Heart> Women are Smarter Terrapin Station>Drums DVD 3 (2nd set cont) Space>All Along the Watchtower> Standing on the Moon> Around and Around>Good Lovin Encore The Weight I will also include a bonus disc from 3-17-95. It is a soundcheck from Phil's earpiece monitor feed. Theres not very much music on it, its mostly talking, but still very entertaining.

Marye, Looks like vine got moved without posting the list (which was me). I sent a PM to Lopezz as well... Hmmmm I thought the list gets pushed over to the real vine listing when you move it? am I wrong? just want to make sure I do it right next time... Marty
