That REALLY fkn blows!! Good on the Royals though. With all the comparisons to the 85 ALCS and my gut feeling, I thought it was destiny for the Birds. In shock... My wife will be happy it's over They only left 12 base runners...brutal. I love baseball.

Born in '64, Mets were my first baseball memory as a 5 year old winning WS in 69. Been on the bus ever since, and with a house full of Yankee fans to boot! I wen to Game 3 of the 73 WS against the A's (a loss) but a great Dad & me moment for sure...86 was a whole 'nother story... It wasn't just Daryl & Doc in those days :-) Went to as many games as I could including the classic Game 4 NLCS vs Houston when Doc Gooden faced Nolan Ryan! Both piched 9... Daryll made it a 1-1 tie by hitting a line drive 10 foot high rope off Nolan in the 8th and then Gary (Kid)Carter won it with a base hit off Charlie Kerfeld in the bottom 12... that was just a set up for the insane Game 6 and then the greatest WS EVER when the Mets beat the Red Sox! I just love the story about Roger Clemens coming out of game 6 with the lead and going into shave only to come out and be on the losing end! Karma I tell ya! So he had to join the Ankees to get his ring... sellout! Oh well, I love Baseball, and the Grateful dead... I could talk BOTH for ever! Peace... Go Mets!!

    Great story on Murphy
There is an awesome story about Daniel Murphy in todays New York Dailey News. Going to try and copy to here.http://nydn.us/1M9pOOS Being from Cape Cod Mass and a Red Sox Fan who has always rooted for New England teams I am rooting fro the Met's in the series not just for Murphy but for the fact that the city has been more or less a Yankee town. Would like it be a 7 game series though. With no team in the fight I love the game 7 pressure for both teams. Also I think it is always fitting to have last series go 7 in every sport.

So much for the Cubs. Mets and Murphy are on a roll. KC hosts game 6 with Toronto Friday: Price vs Ventura. Drumroll please! If game 7 becomes reality, can Cueto cut it?! Might be some Texas rain in KC tomorrow.... got my Oskar Blues IPA and Stone Enjoy By 10/31/2015 cooling off until game time! Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin standing by if the Royals take care of bizness!

Married in 84 as was I...... Mets or Dodgers....vs. Cubs, in the grand scheme of things will it put bread on the table, or bolster retirement? After watching my beloved Bills lose 1990-1993 Super Bowls consecutively, I say give me live music or give me death.....never been disappointed in a live show.... Professional sports have become the WWE..... Entertainment.....for money's sake.... I can't take pride in a 20 something who makes millions play for my/your team until somebody pays him more, and the almighty dollar is his allegiance..... Let's go Mets.....but I still miss Jerry......

I got married on Oct. 7, 1984. Married and broken-hearted all on the same day! Mets or Dodgers? Hmmm... Madden is the right guy for the right time. That ridiculous roster of beefcake are all head-over-heels in love with him. I'm not sure his style would wear well with a veteran crew, but this is just fun, fun, fun. Back to the future in a Delorean, indeed!

Funny... perception is everything. I thought the conversations tilted towards Cleveland! (But, then again, I turn it off whenever Rodriquez or Rose are talking. Can't they find some broadcasters that weren't big, fat cheaters?) Given Cleveland's magnificent play, they are due any admiration from the booth. They have been doing everything the Cubs were doing -- before the Series. Congratulations on some fine, fine baseball! Last night's game was hard to watch. Kluber was amazing again, Miller also (I was surprised they left him in so long, though.) My last observation today -- Bill Murray was a disgrace and an embarrassment. Here's hoping the boys can win at least one at Wrigley!

Another great game last night, happy that Cubs fans experienced a Wrigley victory. Classy teams are always fun to watch. I agree to disagree re. Bill Murray. He bleeds Cubbie blue and was just trying to add some levity to a tough game. Here's to a seven game series, and may the best team win.

I would've been ok with Murray if it had been the second or third night of the games at Wrigley. Or, if he had stuck to a "straight" imitation of Harry Carey. But, I thought what he did was lacking in class and respect for the occasion. I mean, for goodness sakes, people are visiting their parents and grandparents graves !!! As George says, opinions may vary. What once seemed hopeless, now seems possible. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. Seems silly to be so heavily invested, but I'd *LOVE* to see the Cubs win (I've already told my wedding day story.)

what dd I miss? I watched every pitch on Sunday night and didn't hear or see him saying or doing anything at all, other than the incessant camera shots. Was it Saturday night? We were in the air on the way back home and missed the game. Regarding the announcers...they are such front runners. Whichever team they perceive has the edge gets undue accolades. it's goofy. Other than Harold Reynolds...the man knows his stuff and seems to be very impartial. I wish we'd get more of him and less of Rose. Different networks, though, I think, so that won't happen. GO TRIBE! great series, great team, great story no matter who wins but I'm all-in for the Tribe.

Friday night, Seventh Inning Stretch, he sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" (supposedly) ala Donald Duck. He sounded like a combination of Harry Carey (at his most phlegmy) and Sylvester the cat. At least, he hit the first note right. :-) Go Cubs!

Congratulations on shaking the curse: 108 years was way too long for the Cubs faithful fans to wait. As a Cleveland native (I moved away in 1975) the goat is now counting 68 years. 2 years ago, in 2014, the Royals lost the Series at home, unable to get to Mad Bum; however, KC took it all in 2015. Maybe next year for the Tribe!!

I'm not fat, I'm fluffy! :-) But really. That was some seriously good baseball. It was a difference of only one more hit, right? A hit from Martinez, and the story has a completely different ending. All is well in the Cubs universe when Kris Bryant is smiling. https://twitter.com/SportsCenter/status/794048351029329920

great series. cubs deserved it but tribe was tough..hung in there with their probably best player (Bradley) out, and #2 and #3 starters hurt. No excuses thou'..cubs played well.not a native clevelander, but lived there 20+ years, and raised my kids there (now in Tx), so I have a very special place in my heart for Believeland. WFNY again. go browns

Had no vested interest in either team, however it was the best 7 game world series in a long, long time. Living in the Buff, the other mistake by the lake I really feel for Cleveland. Hell, my Bills broke me in 1994 after 4 consecutive Super Bowl losses. I have to say, since then I have become indifferent to sports in general. Attending FTW in the Windy City (with both of you) gave me a real appreciation for Chicago and all it has to offer including the people, they were amazing. The Cubs were the "better" team when it was all said and done, but the Tribe held their own, and have nothing to be ashamed of. Go Bills and Browns ;-)

They could not pull it off last night, but it was an amazing run. Fans gave the team an extended standing ovation after the game. One national sportswriter wrote he had never seen anything like that after a regular season loss. Neither had I. It will take a lot to beat the Tribe. Dominant starting pitching; amazing bullpen; power and clutch hitting throughout the lineup; well above-average defense; strong bench; great manager and fantastic team chemistry. Maybe we should declare them the champs now? :)

Maybe a corny reason to root for a team but am pulling for the Houston Astros's after the devastation there from hurricane Harry. Being a Red Sox I don't mind getting knocked out by them.

Any grateful golfers out there? What are your regular courses? Any bucket list adventures? I'm in West Michigan and love the golf around here! Arcadia Bluffs on Lake Michigan north of Manistee is an awesome experience!

Random fact: There was at one point three PGA golfers named Garcia, Weir and Hart on tour all at the same time! (Sergio, Mike and Dudley, respectively)
