    This is from a post dated March 28, 2012, in the forum titled "Bob Weir and the National light up TRI for Headcount" ...mind, you, this is 2012: "Campfire! As they were going off the air you could hear someone say 'that was best campfire they had ever been to" or something like that.     Some might find it a coincidence that the day Bobby rolled into town (Wednesday, April 12) for his sound test on his new spring tour, the City Council of Dallas voted to decriminalize pot. http://www.wfaa.com/news/local/dallas-city-council-approves-cite-and-re… A coincidence?     i believe i have had brother theo, and yes it is excellent. I prefer IPAs as well, but do like my Belgians and Saisons, too. Craft brewing has finally hit north Texas in a fairly big way, and there are many small brewers putting out various IPA in DFW. Until recently, too often, Texas beer always seems to be a slightly watered down version of whatever style they're brewing. Lately, though, many of the newer guys have figured out how to make an IPA with bite, but not just bitter-to-be-bitter. Community Brewing, Deep Ellum, Peticolas (but they only sell kegs to bars...you can't get it bottled)...these are just a few to try if you can find them. Not slighting the other guys, these are just the ones I can think of immediately. thanks for birthday wishes and "back atcha"

    Oh... I always loved Belgian beers. Definitely a different breed of flavor, but they were all so good. For a Strong, the Rochefort 8 is exceptional (https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/207/1696/). The Tripel was always my favorite. Lighter/crisper than some of the others. Peace, -Dave

    glad you liked the show, reviews I've read were positive...there will never be another Jerry, so we may as well stop the comparisons... On a different note Matt, ever try Brother Thelonius White Belgian Ale....although I prefer IPA's, this California brew is kick ass in taste as well as ABV, over 9 percent.... Regards to the missus, our birthdays are right around the virtual corner.... be well....

    The show was really good. Song selection WAS excellent, execution excellent, some nice jams. as you and Rich suggested, it would be a good, solid show...and it was good to good very good, and some moments really shined. Deep Ellum Blues was a rave-up, especially as the venue was about a mile from the original Deep Ellum section of Dallas. GDTRFB was probably my highlight, my wife really appreciated Easy to Slip. STOM plodded a bit IMO, Althea was uneven but good. The crowd turned Truckin into a sing along and drowned out the band. it was fun bt I can't tell you if was good or not. Bob stepped up to the mike and just ignored the lyric "Dallas!"..it seemed spontaneous. This show seemed to have more "red dirt" west Texas influence in the Blue Mountain songs than what I've sampled on YouTube. "When in Rome...", I guess. There was a new song they played that was more jazz-blues than west Texas..I'll have to figure out which it was...that was my "new" song highlight. I think by the end of the tour they'll stretch it out to a nice jam. I, too, was a little disappointed in the lead guitar work. I've heard Kimock before, and liked him, but last night, something was just not there for me. He was not bad at all...he just was not exceptional. I know it is not fair to hold Garcia, or even Anastasio or Mayer, as the standard when listening to Dead songs, but I do. So that is the context in which I say he was not exceptional. All in all...I've seen Weir as the Bob Weir band way long ago, Ratdog in many of its lineups, and then last night...last night was certainly the most unique, and maybe the most enjoyable of maybe 10 or 12 Bobby-led shows I've been. I would certainly go again. The venue's acoustics are exceptional, too, so that made it that much better.

    thanks for the insight. that is about what i expected from what i've read. currently listening to a show from last october...not bad. i, too, have always liked cowboy bob, so, one way or another, this will be a show. weir with dave nelson sounds awesome. i'll see if i can find that anywhere.

    Matt I am sure you will see a solid show. Circumstance and work commitments prevented me from attending the Ryman show last October, but liketohike and hubby were there and I am told it was very good. As Dave said, it's the players, the National, while good are not suited for the extended jams, last month Bobby filled in for Dave Nelson and his band on tour in Alaska, he played half Blue Mountain, and half Dead, the Dead and solo stuff was amazing thanks to the backing players....Pete Sears and Barry Sless on pedal steel made the music alive...I don't know who Bobby will have but you will enjoy yourself.... stay well

I am listening through www.Dead50.net. I bought all 5 shows for $110. Totally worth it. It's webstreaming fantastically. In my Living Room Live! This is GRATE!! The Boys are sounding tight. And some cool videos and music during set break.

ahhh....the day after....where is it? Uhoh, gone again...once again it's missing....why? I was really paying attention...I knew it would be so...I was hoping it would come true...we were childlike in anticipation...then it did! Yup they stole my face right off my head...and I do so love it when that happens...where is it? there it is, patiently sitting there next to the smug kitten-purr puppy-waggle head who is smiling from ear to ear...ahhhhhhh...all better now. Digress time, as Shirley says to Stanley, while we gather our thoughts again...there's one!..and get ready for day two.. How can we miss you when you won't go away...please stay, Irene, the diet-challenged lady ain't gonna sing, ever, cause it cannot ever ever ever be over, rover. We don't want to miss you, we want to kiss you and hold you tight: the music, the dance, the song, the laughter, the sharing and caring and love for all of this and that and you and you and you and yes, you too bring to this world; our Dainty Ever-loving Amazing Darling family. How come there are not any locks on ba dus? Because you are welcome to get on anytime, stay as long as you want; no need to luck the doors, nobody ever wants to leave. That's right, Women are smarter! So, about those roses...and the petals...and the ever so sweet fragrance of the Boys singing and playing last night...my oh my, we were treated to a feast at the first sitting, and it was so good. lol. I'm sitting here streaming the show last night with the youngest of the tribe and she pops up with her picture of the band. She said all those waves around the band were the beats of the music. A proud moment.

On the shuttle back to my room. Missed the organized chaos yesterday and instead walked one hour in the urban landscape in the wrong direction. Chased down a cab. Today we bee lined to our way post encore tears to the bus but it is not "ba dus" . Sleepy deadheads around me. Scent of red rose and Mandarin citrus courtesy of my cid package. Craving grilled cheese and ipa. But stuffed myself nuf full of memories, and released enough cathartic emotions to make this leg of the tour the finale non parallel. But chugging forward to chitown... Hope to meet you all and celebrate our homecoming together! Coxoxo

These last few days... first SCOTUS comes through <3 Then CHI tickets arrive finally then an amazing sunset at work. And of course yesterday with Rainbow Clouds on the way to Santa Clara, and then actual DEW from the sky - and tonight... He's Gone always gets me... and that cute little bow at the end. :') And both the girls on either side of me got to hear the ONE song they each were hoping to hear.... SIGH/Chills/Happiness/Gratitude/I can't believe how magic it always is... Oh boy I feel it all. I am emotionally stable. Emphasis on the "emotionally." Me, Uncle? For a while now... Not necessarily stoned, but beautiful... I like that Mickey. SINCERE <3 Sorry I missed you Tami. Got my hug from Greg2 and dear Gob showed sis 'n me the way to Shakedown :) Winding down in Marriottland. I ain't ready yet, to go to bed Think I'll take a walk downtown instead xoxo
