    "Everything Changed"
Well, this was the show the changed my life! This is the show that,"I Got IT". Sounds like a pretty big assertion. But true, nonetheless. I had bought 2 boxes Dead Center 5 rows of boxes from the stage. All my good friends were with me.The Boys were playing on a different level. This was a different group than the year before. I knew I was now part of a group of people that appreciated the Grateful Dead for playing music like no other group on the planet. Not only was this one of the best years for the GD it was also one of the best years for me. I ended up seeing 9 more GD Concerts in 1972. About the same number of shows I had seen in total since 1968 prior to the Bowl Concert. I met and chatted with Weir & Garcia. I was in the hall for some sound checks. I only wish I had a decent quality CD of this show.

    My Second Show...
...after the 71-72 New Year's Eve show at Winterland. I went with my friend Dan. Don't remember much. I'd love to see some photos.

    My first show!
Although I had seen the Dead at the Human Be-in in '67, this was really my first show. I totally got it, fell in love with it from the first note, and remain so to this day. Life changing, and I'm still grateful.

I went with a group of friends from high school and sat in a box that one of the parents had for all Hollywood Bowl shows...a great time and a great way to get on the bus!

I just listened to this, well, the 1st Set and what is in circulation of Set 2... 1st Set's marginal quality while the 2nd Set is bordering on horrendous. Pigpen might be heard on the very first Stella Blue, not so sure, will hafta give it a listen again to see... really he's not heard much at all (possibly not even a single note) on this recording. Nice China->Rider suffers from a tapeflip but what can ya do? If this soundboard exists in the vault, it should be released and not held back!

I still recall the China Cat/I Know You Rider from this show as being one of the best. Pig sure looked like he wished he was somplace else!

drchampagne& what a winner it was. Garcia was playing like he really wanted to make up for what Pig wasn't getting done.

I had tickets to this show but my parents would not let me go as I was only 12. So I gave my tickets and my camera to my older brother. I have some good photos of that show. I'll try to get some uploaded.

I remember people dancing on the stage during Truckin' and being warned to, "Watch the wires."

I attended this show. I had a full box, dead center and, despite the great seats, (and my dislike of negativity), this show (my 30th) was a real disappointment - the ushering-in of the bland Keith and Donna years. Because I like to have memorabilia from every show I attended I DID pay a load of loot for a poster signed by the entire band. It took six months just to verify the sigs. If anyone out there has photos, tickets, a decent soundboard etc., I'm open to chatting with you. By the way, attendees, have you all forgotten that the encore was "One More Saturday Night" and that this was the first public performance of "Stella Blue"?

Went with my best buddy and cousin. We tried to smoke the whole lid, but were not successful. It was all I ever wanted from my first Dead show. TG

And, the only concert I've ever attended in my life... I was in L.A. from MCB 29 Palms visiting a friend, and while there, we ran into another kid who told us about the show... We beat feet down to the Bowl and I gotta say, I had a great time... I didn't know squat about the Dead at that time, and haven't become a rabid fan since, but still, it's one of the better memories I have... Great vibe, good people, excellent mind altering substances shared generously, and some of the worst wine I've ever had in my entire life. But what can I say...I had a monstrous case of cottonmouth... Oh, to be 18 again...
