Topped the hot show from the night before.
I always used to walk out of a show and wonder how they were going to top that the next night. The Garden from the first night in 83' comes to mind. Then the next night, many times, your walking out thinking - wow they did it.

Daniel A. Dincher What a set list. I was at both the Merriwether show and this one was the best. The good old Merriwether days. I saw all of them except the last.
Last show with my buddy..
sfox53 Great show- always loved the outdoor setting of Merriweather.
Went with my friend, Scott W, who was a Dead freak supreme. He left us early the next AM when the house he lived in burned.. I always remember & choke up when I hear "Brokedown Palace" Bet he's jammin with Jerry in the beyond right now!

I worked at the Library of Congress at the time digging up research materials for congressional staff and remember seeing many people that I knew from the Hill at these shows. Could use a few more Heads in DC now. Also remember a guy in the park outside trying to sell photocopied drawings as if originals. Good laugh - he had a stack of at least a hundred. Played wiffle ball with new friends in the parking lot too. good time and a great show. Tickets were segregated for lawn and coverd area down front - thank gawd for lax security.
I can't remember
All I know is I had lawn seats. My buds had front row. The first 4-5 rows were folding chairs from the rail to the stage. I looked down the aisle and saw my friends waving at me. I ran. I ran so fast and so tie-dyed no one saw me. jumped the rail, they pushed me to the stage and I rested my arms under Bobby and Phil and was just blown away.
Friends at a GD show are like no other. We can share the women we can share the wine. Peace folks. Long live Jerry.
Merry Weather
One of my favorite shows. The second set was smoking. I couldn't believe they were doing "Why Don't we do it in the Road"! Morning Dew was just the capper. This was certainly the better of the 2 Merriweather shows in '84..
Eat Drink and Be Merriwether
These shows bring back memories. We had car trouble on the drive down from New York and missed the Casey Jones opener. The scene the second day was so casual it felt like a west coast show. I remember laying in the grass before the show listening to the sound check without a care in the world.I miss those days.
1st time Phil uses his mic in way years
Do It In The Road with Phil busting out singing in his own mic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And a phat show at that !!!!
