This was my fourth show and I made a point of getting front row seats (camped at the Popejoy box office), borrowed a friends Nikon - and ended up spending more attention to documenting the show than enjoying the music - didn't dance the whole show - last time I would do that ;-) After the show I was shut out of a party at the Albuquerque Hilton and ended up tripped out, sitting in a stairwell between floors - just spacing on the night's wonders - when someone came down the stairs - Jerry. I was sitting on my butt - he walked by looking down at me - stopped for a second, before continuing down the stairs, and smiled... I smiled back - it was all I could do, not a word did I say, not did he. We just smiled, and instead of missing the party, I felt blessed to be there at that time. The sun doesn't go up or down- We're spinning....

All that cirulates is the meat of set 2. It'd be really nice to hear this entire show. In some ways there is more energy and inventiveness than on other nights. There are vocal problems in Terrpain, and I don't think Playing gets out there, but both are really good, and the Iko sound fresh, Wheel is very good, Wharf is great, and Sugar Mag rocks. VG set, 9/10

Would love to see the first set percoalate from the GD abyss. Need to hear that to fully appreciate this show, even though the second set is super cool. Love Donna's haunting backgrounds on wheel>wharf rat>sugar mag. Espcially the raw timbre of wharf rat when we are all flying away.

lots of western flavor with Big River, El Paso, Jack Straw-well appreciated in albuquerque-so close to the rio grande-it was a long ride from Gallup to buy the tickets, a rare treat to have the Dead play there and they thrilled us

a great show-lots of western flavor-big cheer from the audience when New Mexico was mentioned in song-outstanding, high energy night- I was living in Gallup at the time and traveled with a couple other friends for the show.
