never heard that word, am gonna have to remember it and use it sometimes. Starting now I think would be less hinky to have a separate vine.

Maybe it's because I'm posting with part of the European contigent that these posts are coming in out of order? Here you go, folks who don't live in North America: http://www.dead.net/forum/vines-across-waters

heh. I could have used an f-word complex, but I chose hinky. In keeping with minimal hinkage, I'll see about opening a vine topic separate for those of you across the pond.

do you think a vine topic in the All Around The World would work, with a pointer in the Vine topic? Not being a viner myself, is it too hinky to have two vines going in one topic?

I want to start a section for vines this side of the Atlantic to A: keep postage low B: stop packets having to fly back and forward across the atlantic C: keep the change round times shorter because of B i have put a message on the Deadheads of Europe topic. Where do you want me to post the offer Bob - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Spanish Jam

May sound frivolous, but I personally am missing emoticons for my posts, and have seen them in other forums. Adds a silly, more expressive flavor to messages that I kind of enjoy. Maybe it's just a personal thing, but will write it anyhow. :-)

I noticed when I was pre-ordering the Road Trips Volume 3 Number 1 that if you leave your shopping cart for any reason before checking out there is absolutely no way to get back to it unless you purchase another item and then delete it from you cart. That is is a really big omission. It really reflects badly. That's a basic feature every e-commerce site has - a View Shopping Cart button. It doesn't have to be on every frame maybe just on the home page or the store page - but come on.

For a little while it was possible to click a button and have a list of recent orders sent to your e-mail. Perhaps not the ideal solution, but better than nothing. Now we seem to be back to no info at all, clearly a step in the wrong direction.

I love being able to search past shows and read the input of the attendees, I feel it is one of the greatest features of this site because it gives you an awesome perspective. If at all possible could you add project shows such as The Other Ones, The Dead, and Furthur to our options for review and show attendance? I feel it would give the younger generation much more ability for input. Thanks friends!

Yes Mr. DeadTurtle, I have it on good authority that the suggestions you've made will most definitely be implemented here. In fact, I'm certain that these changes will go into effect in a matter of hours! Thank you so much for your input! Have a nice day :))

I agree about the show listings and Turtle's astute observation and desire to engage younger fans. It just suits the complete archivist's sense that many of us have...

I can assure you that we pay attention to suggestions and some of them eventually come to fruition. Some don't. I will pass this along. I do not know what's possible and what's not. I would suggest, however, directing your attention initially to finding out who, if anyone, has compiled such extensive lists for the side projects a la DeadBase. And since much of our information on GD set lists comes from DeadBase, you might want to go post any queries and corrections in the DeadBase Need Your Help topic in the forums, as Stu Nixon is keeping an eye on that. I think the likelihood approaches zero that we're going to have the resources to compile such lists from scratch; if you can point to existing resources that at least moves things further along. As the side projects proliferate so do the complications of record-keeping. In short, I don't know if it's doable or not but somebody doing the groundwork and reporting back wouldn't hurt. Thanks.

I understand this would have to take alot of time and work from alot of people but I feel when compilied that it would be a fun and useful resource for the GD community. I will do what I can in finding resources for side project info. Anyone else have any ideas?

This isn't a site specific feature, per say, but a music subscription for the archival releases would be great. It is great to have the Taper's Section streaming and the Road Trips CD series. However, it would be nice to have a subscription service that allows you to download new music when it is available. As much as I love buying the newest archival release as a CD, some folks might prefer to buy a yearly subscription and just download new content as it becomes available.

the My Shows doesn't work for you? Under My Dead.net on the left?

Mary, I know about the "My Shows" on the LH bar, but as dead.net used to be, so anyone, including outsiders, who are not registered or signed in, could see what shows, from none to 3000 or so shows any particular registered used attended. As far as I'm concerned, not seeing that infromation makes dead.net a more secure and safer site. And again, thank you (& Izzy) very much for all the work you do around here, keeping us D'Head's in order around here and being a go-to person for us. Peace, sistah!

They sort of got lost in the site update. We're working on getting them back, but no, you are not imagining this.

Trying to find shows I *think* I attended is cumbersome because I can't just plug in a year or date to get me close. With 2300+ shows, it takes too long to find shows in say, 1977, just by using the page feature at the bottom.
Same feature with "venues" would be nice, but it IS easier to just page through that list.
Thanks for listening.
