Grateful Dead

A special full Other one here, was proceeded by a real hot first set Was just a great show, with alot of special old songs in it.

The drums started after Eyes, but Brent launched into Don't Need Love. Jerry left the stage for the entire song. Nobody's Fault was his apology...at least that was our perception. Starlight, such a beautiful place.

I'm finally starting to warm-up to Brent: he was really good, and openning the 2nd set with Cryptical....what a great setlist!

I'd been listening to thier albums for about a year but this was my first show. Bought some white blotter about 5 minutes after parking before i had even left the car. I remember sitting on the hill watching people go into the theatre and it was a nice sunny day and just enjoying the trip/scene so much. After the show i bought a few t's one a great tye dye with althea and a dancing woman on the front. The scene was considerably smaller then than what it would be 2 years later. Very good time kinda makes me wish they had not gotten as popular as they did. Eric

... the venue, but did not go to this morsel of a show. while attending sandstones in '90 and '91, we went the the infamous swope park and saw the weeds adorning those bleacher seats. just a buncha sticky gd energy left there; like so may venues. hello kansas city! love ya except in afc time. deer creek - indpls. peace, shack

This was not the final "Nobody's Fault" , they did it in Boston on 9/22/91 for sure and that might not have been the final one either that I know of. Not that it really matters but just for the record. this starlight show stands the test of time though without a doubt. just look at that second set. tapes of this show are great.

Kristin372 I will never forget this show. Weasled my way up to the front row to find a friend and they opened the 2nd set with Cryptical envelopment!!!!! Was going to Mizzou at the time.

was just minding my own business--in the pit with a head full o' that purple gel--when the other one just floored me. cryptical was a bit croaky but lesh just flew out of the gate. stunning. what a venue. wavy gravy was right.

Coming off a hot as hell show in OK the day before, we headed to our Home town show. Basically I got home, showered did some quick laundry, packed for Red Rocks and headed to Starlight (What a magical place) There was something very cool in the air that night, the air was warm and crystal clear and the music was SOOO sweet. With out a doubt this was my all time favorite show. Look at the set list, The show had the most amazing blues ee feel to it. It was ridiculously cool.

This gig was a complete trip!Naked people outside prior to the show,people peaking before the band went on & my wife & I got turned on to orchestra pit tix 15 minutes before the gig. We gave our prior tix to some 1st timers & followed our friend to in front of the front row! WOW!!! I remember we got to pick up folding chairs & place them wherever we wanted...we sat right in front of Jerry & he looked better than I'd seen him on the entire 85 tours. Fell like a stranger opener & Cryptical 2nd set opener were amazing. The 2nd set was & is still one of the hottest 2nd sets I ever saw!

Of course I also had the impression that "Don't need love and I don't need you " was directed at Jerry in the first place.

Was a great trip to be close to friends.

This was my second show ever, and my most magical Grateful Dead moment--very simple but powerful. It was a perfect late summer evening at a beautiful outdoor venue. During "Eyes of the World" a cool breeze blew through the stage into the audience. Time stood still and the Eyes groove stretched to infinity.

Ah, the glory days when venues would let us camp in site. The show was magical and when I woke up the next morning and crawled out of my tent in the park, there was a guy walking an elephant down the road. I didn't realize there was a zoo close by and briefly thought I was still tripping.
