    The Dead Covers Project 2016

This year's submissions period has ended. Check out all the great performance with the Official 2016 DEAD COVERS PROJECT playlist.

Whether you play just like Jerry or like to give the Grateful Dead's beloved classics a unique spin, the 2016 Dead Covers Project wants you! We're calling all musicians - near and far - to share your love for the music and magic of the Dead through video. Show off your musical chops and you just might find yourself front and center on Dead.net during the month of February! The rules are simple - all video submissions must contain a song either written by or recorded by the Dead. How that song is interpreted, however, is entirely up to you.

Upload your video to YouTube, tag it "DeadCoversProject," and we'll make it available to view on the band's official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/gratefuldead. Can't carry a tune? Join the fun by "liking" your favorites on YouTube.

    Good luck!

Ok, Ok! I'll shut up already!
I have solved the links/videos problem and it was on my end, kind of. I use an iMac computer and thus have Safari as a default browser. Now I know for sure, Safari sucks! I switched over to my Firefox browser and lo and behold, videos are now loading as they should. If you're having trouble with the videos not loading use Firefox. Last question/comment. There seems to be conflicting info on the tags. I read somewhere that the tag should read DeadCoversProject2015 and then I read here that the tag should read DeadCoversProject (no 2015). Can I get clarification on this? I also think I saw somewhere that the tag should read Dead Covers Project 2015 (shown with spaces). Sorry to be such a pain in the bucket!

    Links/videos now you see it
Having a lot of trouble with this site. There appear to be links to some of the videos but not others. Refreshing the page doesn't help. However sending a ''reply'' message to the posts with no links telling them their link is not visible and then returning to the page for some reason forces the llink or video to appear. I feel like I'm being punked. Weird problem.

Does anyone know why some of the videos posted here don't get the embedded player and thumbnail? Only the URL shows, but not the thumbnail and player. Are they posting it wrong?

Hey all, This was our just-in-time entry for the DCP...guess I should've uploaded it here, too? An uptempo version of Black Peter with some sweet guitar-picking and a surprise instrument thrown in for good measure. Enjoy!

Thanks to dead.net for sponsoring the Dead Covers Project 2014! Good job! Here are some suggestions for the 2015 DCP: 1) I saw quite a few posts from people wondering if their video had been "picked up" by dead.net for the project. Consider sending a message to the YouTube account holder to let them know "Yes we've found your video". 2) DEFINITELY send a message to the YouTube account holder if a video is going to be on your front page in the "Featured Artist" section. I am not embarrassed to say that I was THRILLED when my video showed up there, but I might have overlooked it if I wasn't a habitual dead.net lurker... Thanks again brothers (and sisters). Peace. Folks, please be sure to tag your videos DeadCoversProject when you upload them. Otherwise the great database in the sky will miss them and so will the judges. No one wants this. Thanks!

So just to be clear, the tag should be DeadCoversProject with out any spaces, right? Does it need to say 2015 anywhere?
