    Set list for 11-1-73
This was my first Show too and as you might understand I was flying well above the radar that night. I am wondering if this is the complete set list? If so does anyone know how long the band played that night...time wise. By looking at the set list it appears this may have been a short show. The shows before and after look like they were much longer that the 11-1 show was this all they recorded that night. Sometime they had recording problems and malfunctions is this the case? Still smiling, Joe Skaggs aka. Joseppi Linguini

I Agree, Best Dead Show I Ever Heard
This was my first Dead show ever, and was the best one I ever attended over the years. They were in their prime during this period. Drove all the way down from Mundelein to see them. Smallz is correct about the setlist.

Still never heard a better sounding show
After many years and too many shows to count by hundreds of different bands I've still never heard a show that sounded any better than this one.

I remember there were parachutes up in the rafters to help with the sound. This was just before the wall of sound. They had a pumpkin on the stage, and we had a little rubber skeleton. We handed it up, and it ended up in the mouth of the pumpkin.

...all the years combine... the correct second set would be : Here Comes Sunshine PITB> UJB> Morning Dew> UJB Reprise> PITB Reprise 1/2 Step He's Gone> Truckin'> Wharf Rat> Sugar Magnolia The set was, as you can see, not abbreviated in any way. Last show of the tour, much of this material was reprised at the following Winterland shows, now available as" Winterland 1973 , The Complete Shows" available through this website.

Dew is excellent, as is the outro in Truckin' and the jam in Sugar Mag. The sandwich itself is pretty tasty but not great in my opinion. Too bad set 1 doesn't circulate. VG set, 8.5/10

There's no palindrome, PiTB starts from the very beginning after Morning Dew on the recording, and then Uncle John's in its entirety before returning to PiTB. Then He's Gone, Truckin', Wharf Rat, Sugar Mag.
