This year's submissions period has ended. Check out all the great performance with the Official 2016 DEAD COVERS PROJECT playlist.
Whether you play just like Jerry or like to give the Grateful Dead's beloved classics a unique spin, the 2016 Dead Covers Project wants you! We're calling all musicians - near and far - to share your love for the music and magic of the Dead through video. Show off your musical chops and you just might find yourself front and center on Dead.net during the month of February! The rules are simple - all video submissions must contain a song either written by or recorded by the Dead. How that song is interpreted, however, is entirely up to you.
Upload your video to YouTube, tag it "DeadCoversProject," and we'll make it available to view on the band's official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/gratefuldead. Can't carry a tune? Join the fun by "liking" your favorites on YouTube.

Salutations, Grateful Dead Family!A facebook friend told me I should submit this to the Dead Covers Project...
It's an audio recording of a GD/Allmans band I've played with for years.
Since we don't have any good live footage, I created a slideshow montage using my own art with a handful of pictures form the Hubble telescope. I did a series of 'old-timey' Jerry Garcia
pictures, with old-fashioned colors, to suit the "Workingman's Dead" feel.
Hope y'all enjoy. Peace.... Lisa Rainbow~~~ <3 :)

Does anyone know why some of the videos posted here don't get the embedded player and thumbnail? Only the URL shows, but not the thumbnail and player. Are they posting it wrong?

I just uploaded this slide show video with my recording of one my all time favorite Hunter/Garcia songs. I hope you like it.
Hey all,
This was our just-in-time entry for the DCP...guess I should've uploaded it here, too? An uptempo version of Black Peter with some sweet guitar-picking and a surprise instrument thrown in for good measure. Enjoy!
Thanks to dead.net for sponsoring the Dead Covers Project 2014! Good job!
Here are some suggestions for the 2015 DCP:
1) I saw quite a few posts from people wondering if their video had been "picked up" by dead.net for the project. Consider sending a message to the YouTube account holder to let them know "Yes we've found your video".
2) DEFINITELY send a message to the YouTube account holder if a video is going to be on your front page in the "Featured Artist" section. I am not embarrassed to say that I was THRILLED when my video showed up there, but I might have overlooked it if I wasn't a habitual dead.net lurker...
Thanks again brothers (and sisters). Peace.

Folks, please be sure to tag your videos DeadCoversProject when you upload them. Otherwise the great database in the sky will miss them and so will the judges. No one wants this. Thanks!
