Well after a couple of months of wondering and worrying I finally FINALLY got all of my tickets.... Man I can't wait for the tour to hit my neck of the woods ... we are gettin ancy out west! I got a feeling the end of this tour is going to be something special ... especially at the Gorge.. "When the smoke has cleared she said, that's what she said to me. You're gonna want a bed to lay your head and a little sympathy"

Looking forward to seeing how adding Branford in the mix ends up sounding.Wished they would have had more guests for more of the shows. Maybe some surprises still to come, as they are only at mid-point of their tour? One can hope!!!

    PLEASE HELP OUT A TAPER!!
Hi- Here's the deal. I'm a taper and have a taper ticket for both nights at Izod in NJ. I have floor tickets to get my wife and kids onto the floor with me on Tuesday but not Wednesday (they're 5 & 3 and she's pregnant) so I need them to be close to me. I need to trade my 3 regular tickets for Wednesday for 3 floor tickets. They can be ANYWHERE on the floor (the further back, the better for me). The 3 regular tickets I have are in Section 122 which are RIGHT ON THE SIDE near the stage! These are MUCH better seats than the back of the floor. Of course, I will hook you up w/ copies of the shows from Nassau, MSG, the 2 nights of NJ and the 2 nights of Philly (the 6 I went/am going). Please let me know asap!! Thanks!!

a peaceful lot scene is what it's about. the last tour in95 (especially deercreek) was filled with local kids not into the music just looking to get F'd up on anything and start fights. and the nitrous mafia needs to be run out of any lot...when they have head sets, guns, leather jackets, and wads of cash they aren't looking to make gas money to the next show

It's funny you mention that Red Rocks show, I was there and I have the show on my computer and was listening to it just the other day. Opening with Scarlett was excellent but the Fire was terrible - who was singing that, it had to be Rob Baracco? It sounded like he was trying to rap Fire on the Mnt. YIKES! But then a couple of nights later he sang (I think it was him) Here Comes Sunshine and it was pretty good. I guess the moral is don't rap GD music please. I don't know that is a good question. We were sitting way in the back that night and I just can't picture in my head who was singing plus it was almost 6 years ago. I am going to listen to it again when I get home tonight and see if I can figure it out. "Everybody's braggin' and drinking that wine, I can tell the queen of diamonds by the way she shines. Come to daddy on an inside straight, well I've got no chance of losing this time"

It was Mickey. It was when I saw TOO do it in 02. Conversation is always more interesting than recitation, so speak your mind and not someone else's.

Actually now that I think about it Mickey did the same thing with TOO in 98. I bet you guys are right. But would Mickey sing Here Comes Sunshine too or is the Fire rap his only singing duties? The voice sounded the same. I am intrigued with this now. I need to get home and listen to that show again! Parking lot owned by venue owner. Too much trouble (to the Man's eyes) in parking lot and too much media about what goes on and too much publicity and pressure put on venue owner maybe not to have band around or other events and venue owners tell this to band. I can't imagine that parking lots have been declared a free zone where anything goes. We did have it good in many places though. It's all politics and business even if you hate politics and business. The Dead are a business and work in a political world with rules and laws and pressures. After we leave the venue owners still need to deal with the local power system long after we are gone and they are going to want to not have big hassles with that system and to keep having music events to make $. reality can suck If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite. I read some complaints about ticket prices. I am not talking about the sharks but the official price of about $ 100,- We thought that was very expensive. We live in Holland and we just bought tickets for a concert of Ry Cooder and Nick Lowe. We had to pay $ 160 per ticket. I thought that was expensive. Then I realized that we paid only 2/3 of that price for a concert of the Dead. That put this price in a different perspective. Ship of Fools

1st - regarding Fire on the Mountain "rap" - listen to the Rolling Thunder LP version - I think that's the first place it appeared - Mickey "raps" on it there.2nd - about Jerry never telling people what to - ever hear him (and the “Other Ones” ;) tell people to back up from the stage? Dangerous behavior which might hurt people is not part of the trip, in the show or in the parking lot. Also – my vote is for a summer tour at outdoor venues with opening acts like maybe Blitzen Trapper, Umphrey’s McGee and an acoustic set by Robert Hunter which could morph into an opening acoustic set with boys… just pipe dreamin’ ...

I thought Bobby said that alot during shows because he was so strung out on coke in the late 70s early 80s? "If you all just take a step back, your friends up front won't look so horribly bug eyed" LOL, but yes, dangerous behaviour was not the deads intensions at all. I don't agree with all the nitrous balloons in the lot (because, lets face it, its flamable) but as far as everything else goes, the parking lot is what turned me on to the dead. I never knew of the underground hippy world till I went to my 1st show in 91, and guess what? I STARTED IN THE PARKING LOT, Now don't get me wrong, if I had a choice to stay in the lot or see the show, id take the show, hands down.Phatmoye

Hey now Phatmoye....I understand what your saying at the shows, not into nitrous anymore. It does start with the Parking Lot(s). We can all come together, forever and ever, if we make it to the promised land, walk together little children.....you don't ever have to worry. Through this world of trouble, you've got to LOVE one another. And that's takin each brother by the hand, try to help him to understand, we can all be together, forever and ever, when we make it to the promised land. Dude, this site is sometimes slow, so just click once, it will go through. Then you don't have to double post. <<<>>> ____________________________________________________ Will you come with me? He's been around as long as the Dead. He's one of the best guitarist/songwriter/singers of my lifetime. I just got 3 rd row seats to see him in a nice theatre (I do hate arenas)...for $39 including all those fees. Richard Thompson...if you don't know him, you owe it to yourself to check him out. I'm not begrudging the $100 I spent for the one Dead show I get into my schedule...just saying that there will most assuredly be magic onstage with RT, at a price I can still afford without debate and handwringing and gnashing of teeth. Of course, there will be no Lot, just an evening of sublime music. Sold!

RT is great. It sounds like he is playing solo this time around. I am hoping that his tour comes my way, or at least within 600 miles on a Saturday. He is worth the drive. You can't compare his ticket prices to the Dead though.

Hey has anyone else purchased via Consider it Dan and if so have you recieved any emails from them about details ? We purchased a delux travel to MSG and have yet to have any official contact from Consider it Dan. We recieved confirmation from Music Today for the purchase but nothing further. I've sent a few emails to "Dan" but no reply. I'm just edgy about it being a "done deal" since we have not gotten feedback from them and since the package is now - Sold Out. Thanks in advance for any comforting words or input. I can't freakin wait - this is gonna be some fun, wooohooooo!

I was at the ratdog RR show but not NM. RR was a magical night and I heard that NM was good too. Between you and I it was one of the greatest Grateful Dead related shows I have ever witnessed. I love Kimock on guitar he blows Warren away in my opinion. I just think he is more suited for the Dead music than Warren and that night at RR proved it. I think that one of the reasons why Warren Haynes was picked is because he sings. I have nothing against Phil, but his voice always sounds monotone to me.

Discretion, safety, and respect. That is what was always the hallmark of this great culture. It's what they are all about. Turning on you all to a magical dimension, of sounds, sights, smells and experiences...both physical and mental. And ,as this site and the longivity of their music continues to inspire and cultivate ,it has an impact on the mind, body, and soul, that impacts many peoples of this wonderful planet. Life is a parking lot. and without the three basic above path's...the best of humanity will park somewhere else...and that would be a shame. life is a parking lot.

Yeah that makes sense Warren does take some of the singing toll off Bobby. A song here or there of Phil singing is fine but yeah we don't want to overdo it :-) On another note, I see that Fleetwood Mac is $145 at the Pepsi Center. Man, I feel pretty damn good about my $94 Dead tickets! "Everybody's braggin' and drinking that wine, I can tell the queen of diamonds by the way she shines. You're right, I shouldn't compare RT solo ticket prices to the Dead....and it all just evens out anyway. I spent $190/ea because my wife wanted to see the Eagles, then was broke when the Dead announcement came out a couple of weeks later. Was nice to come back down to earth price-wise with Richard Thompson--I can see one of my favorites without busting the bank. Now I have to figure out how to wedge Springsteen tix into the mix....

Marico Mobley is going to take his motor home out from San Francisco and wants a couple of riders. Marico is the “Meat on a Stick" guy from the late 80’s, early 90’s, with the white “Mobley” bus. Nice guy. He doesn’t have a computer, but he is going to be at the show at Ashkenaz in Berkeley this Thursday 2-5-9. Good music, 9PM. Or you can call him at (415)374-5950.I can’t seem to find the Dead ride board. Is this the best place to post this?
