Just got back from Denver show
All I can say is acoustic Deep Elem Blues!! Folks this show in Denver was so damn good I don't give a crap about the negative reviews about the tour so far, thank you for your opinion, but I have to disagree with any negativity ... tonight was absolutely amazing ... the energy ... the love ... the music ohhh the music!! Tonight I became a huge Warren fan, he is just nailing it!! China Doll ... seriously just let Warren sing some more !!... Cumberland ... so freaking good!! Billy .. Mickey ... thunderous!! Jeff grooving as good as any keyboarder ... Ok its late got to go! Peace and love and see you in shoreline and the gorge!! "Escaping through the lily fields, I came across an empty space. It rainbow then exploded, left a bus stop in its place. The bus come by and I got on, thats when it all began. It was Cowboy Neal at the wheel of the bus to never ever land"

not sure if there was some other reason for the big black curtain over those upper sections at Byrne, but certainly those shows were'nt sold out. it would be interesting to know which shows actually 'sold out' and did not have any tickets at the box office on the day of the shows... yeah, a Brokedown Palace after that Sampson in Philly would have been sweet... ( -; dilema with the Dead these daze is once Phil makes his donor rap, you know there will only be one more tune... especially after they take their bows. would have been nice if after that on a few shows they picked up the guitars once more... the only really COOL surprise I saw was the opening of the second set with the drumz because the first set had been so long, forgot which show that was. during the 10-12 shows I saw during the 2004 tour, they played LATE numerous nights... and that was after Hunter or Warren had opened! so those were pretty cool, I though. I especially dug seeing Hunter opening! I am looking forward to trying to get to some Rat Dog shows this summer, Jackie Greene is opening!!!!!!!!! personally, I'd also love to see a combo Phil & Friends / Ratdog tour one of these daze, less hype, no hassles with crappy technology pre-sales, less asshole scalpers... that don't mean to say I think anything wrong is with the Dead, had lots of fun there, too. good vibes, good music, no major hassles, cool folks!

5/5 Cinco De Mayo..........My first ever Dead show. Arrive at the lot around 5:00. We walked around, bought some beverages, ate some goodies, bought some handmade jewlery, always fun!!! Around show time we decided it was time to go to our seats. So feelin real good by then we get in the security line, and just when we thought we were in the clear, a BitchPig grabs my purse and starts rummaging, found my concealed bottle of Jack and confiscated it!! Brand New bottle!!! I was pissed but not as pissed as when we got inside and I paid $7.50 for a Mia-Tia!!! Beareaucratic Buzzkill!!!!! Then it was showtime and the boys started playin and the magic started happenin. My neighbors were nice enough to share some love (if youknow what I mean) and then I was groovin. Later in the show my son also shared a little love with me too. How cool!!! I almost cried during Unbroken Chain and then I lost my mind when they played Hell in a Bucket, one of my top ten favorite Dead songs!!!!!!!! I left the show that night feelin like a kid who just got everthing they wanted for Christmas!!!!! 5/5 Chicago was a show beyond description and it will live in my memory forever!!!!!!!!!! @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ May the Four Winds Blow You Safely Home... Your lucky man, I heard those shows, man, there killer. It wasn't sold out you say? Hmmm....Thats odd... Out of all 3 shows on this tour i caught (not including the Penn show) i'd have to say the first night at the Spectrum was the most magical:) The second night had better set lists tho..You Know tho, I thoght they would of encored with Samson & Delilah into> Brokendown Palace... You know, "id tear this old building down, Now lets leave this brokendown palace" Either way, what ever the dead play, ITS ALWAYS GRATE!!! The dead could play Mary had a little lamb and id start dancin my ass off!!!! :)Peace- Moye

was kind of surprized that the Brendyn Byrne Meadowlands (Izod for you youngins) shows were no where near sold out... or was there some other reason for the black curtain covering the top back tier facing the stage?? we got miracled (from an old friend) with seats in the 3rd row right in front of Branford for the Tuesday show, that was fucking awesome. caught 8 shows. all in all, a grate tour!! I was actually rather proud of myself that i did NOT, like in the old daze, try to get to every show humanly possible (once we got that green light from the calvary) like, we did NOT drive all the way up to Albany... if you are anywhere near the rest of the shows, I got one word: GO!! now, we done.

Ironically you can ascertain where Mail Order Tix will be by accessing third party sites and noting sections where they have none for sale. Good news is that Secs. 5,6,7,8, 70-74,60-64,79-83,87-93,95,96,40,42,43,46,47,120,122-128,133,102,103,108 and great seats in prime 200 sections are all fantastic seats for we mail orderers. Lets hope the lucky 1/3 all use these and none end up where so many thousands of the MSG tix available in the first two stages of this sale are. Good luck to all. Take care.

In all honesty....As long as the sound at these venues is together and views are not obstructed it does not matter where you are sitting as long as you are in and your at the party you will have a GREAT time. Getting in should be the only thing you should have to worry about.

Rosa-Did I see somewhere that you have a room close(walking distance)to the DCU center in exchnge for a ticket? If so,Im VERY interested. My wife and I want to go to the show-but we also want to consume MASS-QUANTITIES-That being said-we do not wish to ruin our lives by getting an OUI or crashing our car thus possibly ruining multiple lives(NOWUTTIMEAN?)Anyway we may have an extra for the right room-as long as you dont mind that it wont be front row(by any stretch of the imagination)But were not expecting the penthouse suite of the RITZ/CARLTON,either(lol)But the ride from Worcester to Lowell is a long one when you've had a few and your lookin over your shoulder for MASS STATE TROOPERS(Believe me-I Know!!!!)But these days I have waaaay to much to lose by doing something stupid! But Phish put out a formal apology about live nation not being able to handle their online ticket sale ( 2 days after it went down.) Kinda upsets me i havent heard a word from the dead about their online sale debacle or the horrific prices. I think they should stream the concerts on the internet to make it up to everybody. sorry, just venting.

If weather permits at Greensboro, Washington, Charlottesville, Albany, Buffalo and E. Rutherford, look for some Paiste Planet Gongs, Crystal Bowls and Vibraphone to sooth your soul before the shows. This is going to be an awesome tour, we are coming to the end of an era for this GREAT music and the world is going to be a very different place when that happens. Enjoy this for ALL it's worth while you can. Thank you boy's for the New Journey. David Hickey Paiste Gongs and Quartz Crystal Bowls Sound Journey www.crystaljourney.ca

Darn it, I wish would have mail ordered like I did so many times before. I got ok seats for the United Center, but man I've seen alot of bands there and the acoustics suck. At least I'm going to be able to show the girl what I have been talking about this whole time. FleaFlicker, I don't think that the Boyz have to apologize for the website overload. Being that mail order was available TOO and you know how kind our people our. How many people would you actually trust at a Phish show? Me, a few, but I'm not going for the scene, just the music....The Dead on the other hand, well, I want to see my old long lost friends and meet some newbies as well.....guess I'm going home to Shoreline for "the" parking lot, cuz I know the United Center ain't going to do that. By the way, if anyone is going, we are having a bonfire/headicated get together with a live band along the way (the 'burbs of Chitown) for all you kind critters (may 4th night) and yes, I don't mind if you sleep on the couch with Delilah. However, you must pass the kindness test first. Just send me a PM. P.S. I do have Phish tickets too for Alpine, but believe you me, I'm a musician, that's why. Ah, the ol' Knickerbocker arena. Seems like just yesterday we were hanging around trying to find cliff ,( he is the guy on disc two of the original release), and attaching clothespins to the hems of the unsuspecting "heads" who walked by. that was a fun game! All of the shows here have been really great and I am looking forward to the one night in April. I am headed out the following day or I would be trying to go to Worcester as well. Tad carper, you hooked Keith and I up and earned a spot in the collective story of our touring days. Vanguard Press indeed! I ordered tickets for a Richard Thompson show last Friday, got them in the mail yesterday, regular USPS delivery. That's service! The email I got said they won't be mailed out until "approximately 2 weeks before the event date however they might be shipped earlier. If you have not received your tickets within one week of the event date, please email deadtickets@musicotoday.com immediately". Don't know why they wait until the last minute to ship I already got my tickets in the mail from the outlets - took like 5 days. Here is my wish list: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS BOBBY ALLOWED TO SING AND RUIN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING CLASSIC GARCIA SONGS: 1. Wharf Rat 2. Stella Blue 3. Morning Dew 4. Black Peter 5. China Doll Feel free to add to the list. I am excited about the tour and looking forward to seeing the boys for the first time in like 25 years (other than a few Phil shows). However, I just listened to the New Year's Eve show on the Grateful Dead Hour, and heard Weir absolutely butcher Wharf Rat. It was horrifyingly bad. There are some songs in my opinion that are so quintessential Jerry that the boys should just leave them alone. I know some of you will disagree, but I will walk out of any show that Bobby ruins the vibe for me. "Let there be songs to fill the air."

Warren could sing a few of Jerry's great songs, but no else in the band should attempt it. I do agree and the list should be much longer. Jack-A-Roe>He's Gone>Cryptical>Darkstar>Ramblin Rose>Comes A Time etc...

Please don't ruin it for me....I love you, but let someone else sing...Lead parts of course...These are Jerry's songs, others in the band are welcome to try. 1. Wharf Rat 2. Stella Blue 3. Morning Dew 4. Black Peter 5. China Doll 6. Anything Classic JGB 7. Terrapin 8. Peggy-O 9. Candyman 10. Stagger Lee Thank you for posting this Pomo1. it must have been the rosescrazy fingers bird song to lay me down china doll ship of fools saw warren with phil and friends in 01, did a good job with chinacat and might be able to do well on some of these also, if a list was made of all the songs Jerry sang that we didn't want treated differently, they might not have much to play, most of us have a special moment during a Jerry tune, so many to chose from, so many special moments. There will never be another Jerry...

There is no one who should sing Jerry songs other than Bobby. And you can't just eliminate all Jerry songs give me a break. I agree that Bobby needs help with the singing duties but to say that he shouldn't sing Jerry songs but have Warren do it instead??? The tour will turn into a Gov't mule rendition of Grateful Dead songs - no thanks! In my opinion only Bobby is qualified to sing Jerry songs. He sang Morning Dew last summer and it brought tears to my eyes something that hasn't happened since I was standing there listening to Jerry sing it. Two summers ago he sang Standing on the Moon and again it brought tears to my eyes. You are right there will never be another Jerry but the next best thing is Bob Weir not Warren Haynes. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Also, I do not want to eliminate all Jerry songs, only certain ones. In fact, I am looking forward to hearing a bunch of Jerry songs, because so many of them are great. My point was that there are a small number of Garcia songs that are so "Jerry" because of the vocals that they should be off limits, and that I will be disappointed to hear Bobby sing them. It's not like the band doesn't have a huge number of other songs to choose from. "Let there be songs to fill the air."

Jackstraw that's a different spin. I've always liked Bobby singing Chincat on TOO. I guess it's that Jerry just had that ability to croon unlike anyone else. But someone has to step up and try. Bobby's always had that one two rock-n-roll punch thing going along with the ability to go off the deep end at any given moment. It's very much different from Jer's approach. I think some songs would work better than others but then again I haven't heard Bobby do some of Jerry's sweetest songs like Dew or Wharf Rat. For that matter I haven't heard Warren do very many of them either. It's not really relevant but David Crosby could pull off a few Jerry tunes

Here to back you up JackstrawfromCo! I was moved by the Morning Dew at RedRocks too, and all the other Jerry songs he sang soulfully that evening. I hadn't been to a show in probably ten years. Drumhead - Could you imagine DC singing with the Dead! Holy cow I would have thought I died and was sitting in heaven!!! Gratefuljam - You know what I'm talking about! It was one of those magical and mytical nights at RR. This may sound goofy but I could feel Jerry standing on the stage that night in 07 and in 08 - smiling at Bobby who was singing his song.
