'Without Love In A Dream It Will Never Come True'
I had a dream last night that the band did Victim>Lovelight. Ok, so it was a nightmare. Regardless, it's about that time, boys and girls. Some things to keep in mind for Chicago: 1) If you ever saw Jerry, Donna, and Keith perform live, you are old now, and since the weather in Chicago in July can be more like Cambodia than Illinois, remember to stay well hydrated, even if the water is $11.00 a bottle. 2) Anticipate VERY long lines for everything; security, sanitation, sustenance, etc. Please be polite and patient. 3) The unexpected 'hot ticket' and Big Money scenarios that have occurred are making this whole thing feel more like a Super Bowl than a Dead show. Notwithstanding, the only time our scene ever really worked was when a high percentage of the attendees contributed to it with kindness, sharing, synchronicity, and humor. What will you bring? Best of everything to you all. I'll meet you at the Jubilee.

Fare Thee Well - Santa Clara - 2 tickets for Sunday 6/28
I have "2 extra tickets for Sunday night 6/28" of the Fare Thee Well shows in Santa Clara, CA. I won these tickets from the lottery and they are hard-copy tickets. I am looking to get face value plus fees/exactly what I paid for them. ***** TICKET AND PRICE INFORMATION ***** Sun Jun 28 2015 7:00 PM Fare Thee Well - Celebrating 50 Years of the Grateful Dead Reserved P5 Obstructed View Sec 121, Row 12, Seats ( 5 - 8 ) Although these section 121 seats are labeled obstructed view, they are on the side of the stage just before the sections start to have a decent view to the front. The seats are 12 rows up from the floor and I think in a pretty decent location for $85.00 a ticket. They are certainly in a much closer-in location than my $225.00 tickets I have for the first night. I will be in the Portland, OR area until Thursday night before I travel. After that I'll will be in Sunnyvale, CA on Friday morning and can meet you sometime that day or over the weekend to do a ticket exchange. You can email me direct at: cozmocatman@hotmail.com Here's my craigslist posting for additional information: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/tix/5086228930.html Thank you for a real good time! ~ B ~

    camping for SC
Hey now, San Mateo County has an extensive park system, many of them less than an hour's drive from the venue, though not necessarily in the middle of the night. I would recommend the smaller parks west of Skyline Boulevard such as Sam McDonald Park, Pescadero Creek Park, Memorial Park, or Junipero Serra Park. Check ahead; some require reservations, others parks have some reserve campsites and others first come first serve. Santa Cruz County also has wonderful parks, somewhat farther away and likely more popular this time of year. Still, Big Basin in Santa Cruz is the crown jewel of Peninsula redwood parks, and if you're planning on camping for several nights and/or can get a good reservation, it's an incredible place to explore. Learn what poison oak looks like; a lot of it hasn't turned red yet. No state monies for the parks (need that cash to feed that Jones) so do expect to pay — I don't know, 15 bucks wouldn't shock me. This flash I had may explain a lot about the problems we've seen so far and the ones we may see in Santa Clara. The promoter, and in the case of Levi's the staff and management, are amateurs. They have very little experience in doing what they are about to attempt, and nothing on the scale of FTW. That insecurity may be what fuels their parental "we are in total control here" approach to crowd management. The best thing we can do is to share some of our experience with the security staff if they'll listen to us. If they try to enforce no hacky sacks (it's in the rules, no airborne missiles!) in the parking lot, things might "get out of hand" — or they might just get clownish! The truth is, I was sort of hoping for something with a little more chaos and a few less cops, and maybe a non-curated Shakedown Street. Something more like a Grateful Dead concert, just for old time's sake. But the truth is it's not 1982, I'm going to have to work with what I'm given, and I feel very grateful that they decided to play two shows here for us, and very lucky that I got tickets to go. See you there! ;-)

I am sticking with my original last song call of Ripple with Robert Hunter on guitar and vocals. End on a high note-- I can see the smiles of 70k people in attendance already. OK, thanks for posting that Phil and Friends video. I like this year-by-year show thing he is doing. Listening to the Dark Star from 1969 show now and this captures it better than anything I have ever heard. It makes me appreciate how much the gear can change the sound. They are using gear from each era to best capture the original sound and they have achieved wonders here. Beautiful stuff.

Last thing will be Phils donor rap! I imagine something like this 6-21-80 show on sunday. Minus the OMSN of course and some other tweaks. And yes of course its all good, but guessing is fun as heck!Revisiting 6-21-1980 today. Come and join me. Twinkle twinkle little keyboard player, how I wonder where you are. Peace, health, safety, fulfillment to each and all out there, be good, be well. Love love love!

The last song will be "Money, Money""We want money, what we want, we want your money, what we want, we want all your money, what we want....." or "Ship of Fools" "I won't slave for beggars wage, but I like me some gold and jewels..... I agree to disagree, and in the middle of all of this silliness, I agree to be silly also. Too bad some can't see the forest for the trees. The pranks on you

and Jerry said, "the GD came out of the Acid Tests" or something to that effect. maybe they'll go out like the Acid Tests. Three great (grate) big Acid Tests. "Storekeeper, doses for everyone!" The Great Uber-Prank. Meanwhile, it's February 10, 2015. Onward, Deadhead soldiers, marching at a show.

Out of curiousity, has anyone received confirmation that their money order was cashed / processed? While I continue to check on the USPS site each day, I am guessing that they will not be cashed until after February 28th....

The lucky ones will be notified via email in early march with tickets to arrive sporadically over the course of the following months in order to go undetected to swindlers looking to score your seats from your mailboxes. Nothing this mail order is the same except for GDTS

Just an FYI... VH1 Classics is showing the Saturday Night Live from 11/11/1978, with the Grateful Dead, on Thursday 02/12/2015 at 10PM (at least it is at 10PM on my DirecTV guide in Los Angeles, DirecTV channel 337). Enjoy.

So it is possible to have the VIP and Ticketmaster sale come and go before I know if I was lucky enough to get any Mail Order tickets? I honestly think I am more confused after reading some of these posts than I was before I read them

No way, CSNY's 'Chicago.' I don't think there will be many covers that weren't staples from GD tour. If I was going to throw out an unconventional cover for the opner, I'd go with "Hello Old Friend" by Clapton. If I had to bet on an opener... Jack Straw would be smart money with Touch of Grey not being a bad choice.

i cannot freaking believe this. i jump through hoops, 2 stamps, 2 number 10 envelopes, each night hand written on the envelope, who does this, but just as i have since the 80's, this time who can find freaking 3 x 5 cards anymore, name in upper left hand corner, is that the very top left corner or just kinda on the top left, six (6) freaking separate mail orders in case one night is sold out, hand canceled on the first day eligible, for all three shows in chicago and oh, sorry, overwhelming response, here's your money orders back. oh really, what did you have only 500 tickets per show, a thousand? unfreakingbelievable, i am so disappointed in you GDTSTOO

Any chance Branford Marsalis will make an appearance at Fare Thee Well? In my opinion, he was the best guest they ever had sit in with them. I love the man's playing and think his style meshed oh so well with the band's music. Having Branford show up for a night would be amazing IMHO. (~);} -BC

Branford came out. Not quite like 90 Nassua (those recording are some of the best I've heard), but it was quite the treat. I can see him coming out for an Eyes, or Bird Song.

I received my rejection two days ago in CA. How can you get mad at or blame GDTSTOO for that? You can't. If they get 60,000 envelopes they can't possibly have time to play favorites and sort through who they want to receive tickets and who they would like to reject. I am positive it is purely random...and the odds weren't with me.

Getting that letter was like a kick in the balls. I know GDTSTOO got swamped, etc. but been ordering almost exclusively through them for virtually every Dead related show in the past 25-30 years...was hoping that might count for something...maybe a database of frequent customers? Between die-hard GD fans, Phish fans, and newbies/curiosity seekers who've never been to a Dead show, the odds were against most of us. Gen pub is going to sell out in 5 minutes. Scalpers are already dancin' in the streets.
