    Ticket Prices
Yes people are freaking out about the ticket prices, it is shocking but have you been to a football game, Hockey game or a Basketball game recently? That’s is what is out of control!!!! The ticket prices are in line with what other bands are charging in this day and age. The good news is you have a few options that will be cheaper that the $100 seats. Some acts are charging more for tickets just to keep the scalpers away from the good seats. I go to a ton of shows and the ticket prices usually range from $70 – $150 and up to $400 (Sting as an example) http://public.fotki.com/araslich/concerts/

    The price of tix
The price of tickets to big-name acts has risen steadily and spectacularly. Some top ticket prices at Madison Square Garden in 2007 and 2008 (not including any VIP tickets that may have been offered): Bob Seger, $79.00 Ozzy Osbourne, $79.75 Neil Diamond, $120.00 Rush, $129.50 Van Halen, $149.50 Barry Manilow, $150.00 Roger Waters, $174.50 Celine Dion, $189.50 Jimmy Buffet $201.50 The Police, $254.50 Steve Winwood & Eric Clapton, $254.50 Genesis, $256.50 So $100 is not out of line. I don't completely buy the story about how expensive it is to tour today. It undoubtedly is, but I believe the reason tix are so expensive is because the performers want to have a big pay day.

Sure everything costs more these days, but they have sold out to class warfare. Used to be everyone paid the same price and got a fair shot at decent seats. It's bad enuf the scalpers always manage to scoop up the best seats, but now the band is engaged in scalping themselves. VIP seats for a couple hundred dollars a piece?!? Or pay $45.00 more for "better" seats---and they don't even tell you where those seats may be. Then the online presale eliminates the "cheaper" tix altogether for most venues. WTF? My first dead ticket cost $6.50. I don't mind paying more but this is insulting and a ripoff of the fans that got them where they are thru good times and bad. At Penn State, I couldn't give extra tix away. If these shows fail to sell due to this BS it will only lessen the probability of future shows.

Wow, This is incredible!!! I live in Scranton Pa. I have 9 shows all within driving distance from home. The closest is Wilkes-Barre at 17 miles the furthest is Buffalo about 5hrs... Tic prices are a bit steep to make all the shows but If I were only back in my twentys minus the wife and kids I would be on the road again. I always said this is the best place to live for concerts. 125mi. from both Philly and NYC. I am Going to Wilkes-Barre and both Spectrum Shows. I will try for a MSG as well hope to see ya there!!!! Music is why I love life so much. Live music only makes it better. In music, I beleive everyone can find PEACE..... Sadly the world isn't ready..

These shows will sell out and they wight have to add shows because of the demand. If you don't go someone else will. And it's only gonna get worse...There is no regulation. There never has been. Given the one week space in between shows it wouldn't be surprising to see to see Autzen Stadium, Portland Meadows, Tacoma Dome and maybe even the football stadium in Missoula, Montana as a tour ender. Or, alternatively, Vancouver or Victoria, British Columbia to end with & Veneta instead of Autzen... Hey, we can dream, can't we?

no official anouncement is to give the people that are in the know a chance to get good tickets. Being one of the few west coast shows, it's likely to sell fast. They did this alot back in the day actually ( word of mouth, not listed) gives the true deadheads a good chance. I forget where actually but back in the 80's they actually billed themselfs as "Formerly the Warlocks" to throw people off so the shows wouldnd sell out so quickly.

"This must be heavenTonight I crossed the line You must be the angel I thought I might never find Was it you I heard singing Oh while I was chasing dreams" ~John Barlow This is the best week of my life in a hella long time! I just got back from an unbelievable time...I took Trish to a sweet bungalow getaway for her B-Day/V-Day present (private pool/spa, steam room, crankin' tunes, Jacuzzi bathtub, and amazing love for one another) AND got a new digi-camera (old one was stolen before a show in July) AND just got Tom Petty & The Heart Breakers live at the Fillmore DVD (amazing 20 show run) AND now I get to see another CHITOWN show! I almost jumped out of my seat when I read this! WHooooooaaaaaaa Doggies! I am excited, elated, and totally relaxed at the same time! Phatmoye, I don't, I think they kind of knew this was going to happen all along, but wanted to wait until after finding out who they could trust (and boy did we all), put out the rest of the shows like they used to. Never a doubt in this boy's head! ~Just laughing and a singing, dancing in the street!~ ____________________________________________________ Will you come with me? Let's see Denver to da Inglehood then on up to Shoreline then on to da Gorge...... hmmm that's a lot of drivin' to do by myself - I'm gettin' a cramp in my ass just thinkin' about it - it's hell gettin' old ain't it? Brother Jack - I called Ticketbastard this mornin' to see if they were handlin' the on sale for this show as I've been told that the Gorge is a Livenation venue. I recall that Ticketbastard also showed the on sale for Shoreline even though Livenation was the place to go. I did check the post on Ticketbastard which showed tix for $45 - $75. Cust serv said that they had confirmed the on sale for the 5/16/09 show at the Gorge for 2/20/09 at 10am. Let us take a momement and ponder the large grain of salt before us and not forget why we like to call 'em Ticketbastard amongst other things - Peaceful Journey To You All......... It sure would have worked out better for me, schedule-wise. Oh, well, Tuesday will be good, even if it's sloppy seconds. Hope the boys don't wear themselves out on Monday, I kinda liked having the day off before the 5/5 show. Happy to see another couple of west coast shows added for those folks, though. ********************************************* **************This space for rent***************** *********************************************

The announcement on the dead.net home page shows presale on 2/17 through Musictoday web site. Dont know if these guys are in bed with ticketbastard too, but to be sure there will be "brokers" standin in the virtual line with multiple computers waitin to buy up blocks of the best seats. Any self respecting Dead Head would never buy a ticket for anything more than face value from a scalper. Thats not in the spirit of what this whole scene has been about for 40 years. I can remember Bill Graham walkin the line at Winterland and tellin scalpin bastards to get the hell out of his neighborhood. Best bet for reserved seats is still the mail order BOYCOTT ONLINE SCALPERS!! SCUM OF THE EARTH!!

They would have either a) had a Shoreline show on May 11 or b) had these 2 Shoreline shows planned from the get-go. I already made travel arrangements for one show :-( Stupid job, always holding me back! "When the smoke has cleared, she said, that's what she said to me. And another thing... if we do boycott these bastards, as show times draw near they will come down and you may get great seats for face value or less. I can remember hangin around shows till the doors open and watchin them almost fight each other for a sale. Make these pigs eat thier greed! FACE VALUE OR MIRACLE! ACCEPT NOTHING LESS! theotherone2 I agree mail order is the way to go, however the 3 add on shows dont offer this option. There is a link to GDTSToo from ticket sales site, but there is no mail order actually available for those 3 shows. I am holding out hope that mail order will become avaialble. I dont know for a fact but I assume to be true that when we use mail order, a greater percentage of the profits make it to the band and operation costs. Plus mail order tickets (at least in the past) have cool graphics and I assume support people who work for the dead at GDTSToo. If nothing else it keeps ticketshiester from getting any added service fees. That alone is worth the wait. To anyone else who is patiently awaiting mail order...think positive...the mailman knows us all on first name basis! ~Peace 42% of all statistics are made up.

Fear not...the intrepid crew at GDTS are scurrying around, filling orders and mailing tickets. Here's the update they just sent out this morning: We are processing the last of the Philadelphia orders this week & next as well as MSG. The first Shoreline is the next out of the door. The remaining shows will be processed in 3-6 weeks. Credit cards will also be processed this week & next. Please try to hold your phone calls and emails as we are busy bees filling ticket orders. In previous updates, they indicated that they'd send back money orders to the unlucky ones that didn't get tickets (only applies to a subset of MSG, Philly & Shoreline orders), so if you haven't gotten your paperwork back, the odds are that you're good to go for MSG. Look for tickets in the next week or so.

It's cool to see the new shows added but I feel the pain of those southern heads. Has anyone noticed that the band is only playin' in blue states? It may just be a "tip of the hat" to Obama? I know they could fill a few arenas in the south, having lived in fla for years, they always drew a crowd there. Thank the stars we moved to NC. Sorry to all those red state heads.
