Gergelis, you crack me up everyday. My office neighbors must hear my laughing through the walls. Well, quite a few of we biologists are GD lovers so they understand. They know I'm cracked. LOL! Yah, we all need some flexibility and knowing that we all are doing the best that we can as we travel through this land. Like I eluded to yesterday, some sweet Viking mamas or Egyptian goddesses might delay my arrival to said picnic. I did a Google ruler measurement. It's between 0.5-0.6 miles from the museum to the super secret picnic location. Watch out for them teddy bears trying to get on the dus.

ba dus is on autopilot and will stop for stray cats, dogs and heads... appreciate the well wishes Totes, and hope you're correct... re. High noon....time is relative and always has been, Totes, Lainie Bear and I will be at the museum in the morning....and after pic a nic.... However we need a window of arrival time, to expect every camper to be there for a photo op at exactly high noon is risky at best....and lacks necessary wiggle room and fluidity.... busy city busy weekend and people from all over....walking, biking, cabbing, ubering, crawling and limping there... Provided tickets are in hand Elaine and I will be there....Scott and Rosalie are a lock.... Hey look it's Brian Setzer....gotta slow down....hop on...there's a seat next to Fester....grab some coffee... you got something to say? The floor is all yours..... Well, we're having a ball just a-bopping on the big dance floor Well, there's a real square cat, he looks a 1974 Well-ell, he looked at me once, he looked at me twice Look at me again and there's a-gonna be fight We're gonna rock this town We're gonna rip this place apart We're gonna rock this town Rock it inside out We're gonna rock this town Make 'em scream and shout Let's rock, rock, rock, man, rock We're gonna rock till we pop We're gonna rock till we drop We're gonna rock this town Rock this place apart after reading back the lyrics...not the best choice of song...let's try Stray Cat Shuffle....it's the bees knees....

Field Museum Important Info for Saturday
Am I allowed to leave The Field Museum and come back later? Yes, if you come back on the same day and have your tickets handy. So you can leave the museum, make the Pik-A-Nik for lunch, and return to the Museum if so your pleasure tends. I am geeky, so I will be at the museum most of the morning, picnicteer, then return to the museum for some jazzy Dead and Archive/ GDTS exhibit. It's all in the same area (museum is about 1/2 mile from the picnic). For those that missed the ticket link yesterday, there is a link to the event below. Everything is Dead at The Field Museum All The Years Combine: Deadhead Treasures From The Grateful Dead Archive & GDTS Too Drawing on the extensive collection of the band’s own archive, All The Years Combine: Deadhead Treasures From The Grateful Dead Archive & GDTS Too features material from every part of the Grateful Dead’s career that document the special bond between the Grateful Dead family and their family of fans. Visitors will have the opportunity to see band and fan correspondence, decorated ticket request envelopes, newsletters, drawings, posters, tickets, backstage passes, and fan-made concert tapes. Jazz & Colors: Wave That Flag July 4, 12:30pm – 3pm, performances throughout the Museum, included with admission Following the success of Jazz & Colors in New York’s Central Park and Jazz & Colors: The Masterworks Edition at the acclaimed Metropolitan Museum of Art, Jazz & Colors comes to Chicago’s Field Museum with a more focused and intimate experience. Jazz & Colors: Wave That Flag will feature local jazz musicians performing in various parts of the Museum taking on the songbook of the Grateful Dead for two sets of music on Saturday, July 4th. Jazz & Colors is a co-production of The Field Museum and the promoters and performers of Fare Thee Well. http://www.fieldmuseum.org/at-the-field/programs/everything-dead-field-…

said tyhe cat in the hat in the back.... Fine job of steering da dus, rgrrrgrr, and taking those curves at just the right speed. Tis quite a shiny badge you've got there... I like the steelie face logo and Captain Rich tag. Anyone catch the Smithsonian Channel's Aerial America last night? It featured Illinois, and had several majestic aerial flights over Chicago. I was hoping they would fly over Buckingham Fountain, and sure enough they did...the area for our meet-up just to the SE of the fountain loomed right up large in my screen. The trees looked a bit shaggy, the lawn green, and my heart skipped a beat at the vision of deadheads everywhere converging on that area in a couple of short weeks....here is the link, etc: http://www.smithsonianchannel.com/shows/aerial-america/illinois/701/340… As we get closer to our destinations...rggrrgr promised to drive a bit more slowly (right!) or at least slow enough for the deadheads along the way to get on...as we approach California, there may be a sea of people around us...make sure you wave and say high to them... Matter of fact, practice smiling and greeting your neighbors today, here on this ride, at home in your hood, and elsewhere as the opportunities arise. You never know who is needing that special twinkle and smile and you may have one at the perfect time. Make a difference today friends if you can, and if that isn't in the cards, help someone who is. Um, well. That bottle of proseco was just begging to be opened. Early. So, it's keeping company with some fresh out-of-the-oven chiabatta, slathered with a decadent triple cream brie aside fresh figs and sliced peaches drizzled with pomegranate balsamic. "You can't dance so I assume In a bag you couldn't carry a tune" My favorite stanza this week! (and oh, so true.) Seriously. Wish you were here...

These posts of yours are better than calling a 900 number....enjoy dinner... Mirrors on the ceiling, The pink champagne on ice And she said "We are all just prisoners here, of our own device" And in the master's chambers, They gathered for the feast They stab it with their steely knives, But they just can't kill the beast I'm hungry.....

a peaceful easy feeling here in da Buff...... I'll light the fire, you place the flowers in the vase that you bought today. Staring at the fire for hours and hours while I listen to you Play your love songs all night long for me, only for me. Come to me now and rest your head for just five minutes, everything is good. Such a cozy room, the windows are illuminated by the Sunshine through them, fiery gems for you, only for you. Our house is a very, very fine house with two cats in the yard, life used to be so hard, Now everything is easy cause of you and our la, la, la: Our house is a very, very fine house with two cats in the yard, life used to be so hard, Now everything is easy cause of you and our I'll light the fire, you place the flowers in the vase that you bought today. Hey now Daydreamers it is a beautiful morning here in Saint Louis. I'm sitting here in the Jury pool looking out the window at the Gateway Arch. What a great weekend it was indeed! Thanks to rrrgrrr and a carrier pigeon who is headed back to da Buff for my package. Matt and I were so excited to get "show tapes" in the mail! Now we'll see if I get chosen to help decide someone's fate... Good morning, Worm your honor. The crown will plainly show  The prisoner who now stands before you Was caught red-handed showing feelings Showing feelings of an almost human nature;  This will not do. Call the schoolmaster! I always said he'd come to no good In the end your honor. If they'd let me have my way I could Have flayed him into shape. But my hands were tied, The bleeding hearts and artists Let him get away with murder. Let me hammer him today? Crazy,  Toys in the attic I am crazy,  Truly gone fishing. They must have taken my marbles away. Crazy, toys in the attic he is crazy. You little shit you're in it now, I hope they throw away the key. You should have talked to me more often  Than you did, but no! You had to go Your own way, have you broken any  Homes up lately? Just five minutes, Worm your honor,  Him and Me, alone. Baaaaaaaaaabe! Come to mother baby, let me hold you  In my arms. M'lud I never wanted him to Get in any trouble. Why'd he ever have to leave me? Worm, your honor, let me take him home. Crazy,  Over the rainbow, I am crazy, Bars in the window. There must have been a door there in the wall When I came in. Crazy, over the rainbow, he is crazy. The evidence before the court is Incontrovertible, there's no need for The jury to retire. In all my years of judging I have never heard before  Of someone more deserving Of the full penalty of law. The way you made them suffer, Your exquisite wife and mother, Fills me with the urge to defecate! "Hey Judge! Shit on him!" Since, my friend, you have revealed your  Deepest fear, I sentence you to be exposed before  Your peers. Tear down the wall!

As soon as the panel was called, the case was setled. Now I'm drinking my lunch at TGI Fridays in the shadow of the Arch. I never get to have a coctail at lunch. Hopefully I get called up cause the book I'm reading sucks...should known it was a rape story, its got my blood pumpin. Good to see other jurors at the bar... Cheers! ;-) My song now is Tennesee by Arrested Development. Takes too much battery to post lyrics.

It's ok I will spin one for you.... 5 a.m. on Tuesday, why am I up so early? Drive out to Santa Ana 'cause I've got jury duty No breakfast, short tempered And I cut my head shaving Ten miles out, I hit traffic Some days just aren't worth saving You know I haven't had the best of days But I want to stop and thank you anyway At the courthouse I waited And waited then I waited At lunchtime my car stalled out I couldn't get it started Had a book by C.S. lewis I finished the last page and Slept on my desk for three hours Just like my high school days 'Cuz every single moment Whether sleeping or awake is your creation And what you've made is good I don't always thank you for the rough days And the hard times in my life Even though I should Got home and decided I'd be in a bad mood My shy and quiet wife said she didn't like my attitude Got a call from my mother Forgot my sister's birthday I'm a lousy older brother safe to say I've had a bad day

Took the bus downtown this Morning. 10 minutes to downtown. I love my city. Even the homeless sleeping in the park or those waiting to get free breakfast from the Salvation Army. I was born here. My soul grew here. Big city, big problems but it's home. I know it like the back of my hand. These streets have memories, of harder times and slower days. When horses were pulling wagons down the cobblestone streets. The Dred Scott decision was handed down right across from where I sit.

I saw her sitting in the rain Raindrops falling on her She didn't seem to care She sat there and smiled at me And I knew (I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew) She could make me happy (happy, happy)  Flowers in her hair, flowers everywhere I love the flower girl Oh, I don't know just why She simply caught my eye I love the flower girl she seemed so sweet and kind. She crept into my mind. I knew I had to say hello (hello, hello) She smiled up at me She took my hand and we walked through the park alone But I knew (I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew) She had made me happy (happy, happy) Flowers in her hair, flowers everywhere I love the flower girl Oh, I don?t know just why She simply caught my eye I love the flower girl she seemed so sweet and kind She crept into my mind Suddenly the sun broke through (see the sun). I turned around she was gone (where did she go). And all I had left was one little flower from her hair. But I knew (I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew)  She had made me happy (happy, happy). Flowers in her hair, flowers everywhere I love the flower girl Was she reality or just a dream to me? I love the flower girl Our love shall lead the way To find a sunny day I love the flower girl Was she reality or just a dream to me?

You got a lotta nerve To say you are my friend When I was down You just stood there grinning You got a lotta nerve To say you got a helping hand to lend You just want to be on The side that’s winning You say I let you down You know it’s not like that If you’re so hurt Why then don’t you show it You say you lost your faith But that’s not where it’s at You had no faith to lose And you know it I know the reason That you talk behind my back I used to be among the crowd You’re in with Do you take me for such a fool To think I’d make contact With the one who tries to hide What he don’t know to begin with You see me on the street You always act surprised You say, “How are you?” “Good luck” But you don’t mean it When you know as well as me You’d rather see me paralyzed Why don’t you just come out once And scream it No, I do not feel that good When I see the heartbreaks you embrace If I was a master thief Perhaps I’d rob them And now I know you’re dissatisfied With your position and your place Don’t you understand It’s not my problem I wish that for just one time You could stand inside my shoes And just for that one moment I could be you Yes, I wish that for just one time You could stand inside my shoes You’d know what a drag it is To see you 3 plus weeks outside of Chicago and still Jerry jonesin'

RIP, John Jeremiah. There's a road I'd like to tell you about, lives in my home town Lake Shore Drive the road is called and it'll take you up or down From rags on up to riches fifteen minutes you can fly Pretty blue lights along the way, help you right on by And the blue lights shining with a heavenly grace, help you right on by And there ain't no road just like it Anywhere I found Running south on Lake Shore Drive heading into town Just slippin' on by on LSD, Friday night trouble bound And it starts up north from Hollywood, water on the driving side Concrete mountains rearing up, throwing shadows just about five Sometimes you can smell the green if your mind is feeling fine There ain't no finer place to be, than running Lake Shore Drive And there's no peace of mind, or place you see, than riding on Lake Shore Drive And there ain't no road just like it Anywhere I found Running south on Lake Shore drive heading into town Just slicking on by on LSD, Friday night trouble bound And it's Friday night and you're looking clean To early to start the rounds A ten minute ride from the Gold Coast back make sure you're pleasure bound And it's four o'clock in the morning and all of the people have gone away Just you and your mind and Lake Shore Drive, tomorrow is another day And the sunshine's fine in the morning time, tomorrow is another day And there ain't no road just like it Anywhere I found Running south on Lake Shore drive heading into town Just snaking on by on LSD, Friday night trouble bound

So, ok. how weird is it, that I spent the day at the Cook County Court House at 26th & California (lovely neighborhood, if you like jails.) How did I spend my day? In the JURY ROOM. In the morning, I got to color (my newest kick.) In the afternoon, got to sit in the panel and get asked questions by a smart old judge, who loves his job. Fortunately, he didn't pick me, and I they sent me home at the end of the day with a $25 check. Made any more, and I might move away! I tell ya -- I don't know how people that work in the city do that commute on a daily basis.

Sold ba dus, too many miles, brakes shot, no A/C and its friggin hot here.... Good news.....I got incense, coffee, dog n cat food and a weird ass raft from these guys named Huck n Jim...they were following Phish upstream and needed gas money..... Problem is I'm up the creek without a paddle....anyone have a spare paddle and we can go see Carlos n Phil at Lock'n and Warren and Bobby with Ratdog...... Sarge is wearing his lifeguard garb, with goggles.....so we are safe..... Get on your cabana wear......and have one more piña colada..... With a lotta love and Just a little luck we can carry on..... This one goes out to those who are in a lull after the Chicago party....... Gotta get better in a little while.....Eric and Duane told me so...it must be true! A friend of mine just had a real bad time. You see, his life was shattered and he lost his mind. His girl ran off along with his best friend, And through emotional stress he brought his life to an end. It was such a tragedy, But that's the way it's got to be. Life goes on. Life goes on. It happens ev'ry day. So appreciate what you got Before it's taken away. Life will hit you When you're unprepared, So be grateful and take all That you can while you're there. Get that frown off your head, 'Cause you're a long time dead. Life goes on and on and on. Life goes on and on and on. No use runnin' 'round lookin' scared, Life could get you when you're unaware. One day it's gonna come, so you better accept it. Life will hit you when you least expect it. And one day when you are gone, You know that life will still go on. But no one'll care if you've been good, bad, right or wrong. Life will still go on. My bank went broke and my well ran dry. It was almost enough to contemplate suicide. I turned on the gas, but I soon realized I hadn't settled my bill so they cut off my supply. No matter how I try, it seems I'm too young to die. Life goes on and on and on. Life goes on and on and on. Tornado, cyclone and hurricane Can batter the houses with the thunder and rain. Blizzards can blow; the waves hit the shore, But the people recover and come back for more. Somehow the people fight back, even the future looks black. Life goes on and on and on. Life goes on and on and on.

All aboard...da raft? I've got extra paddles and some flippers too just in case. Grab your lifevest and pass me a pina colada! Puppers, where is the sunscreen? I burn red as a crab in the sun! On waves of love my heart is breaking And stranger still my self control I can't rely on anymore New tides surprise - my world it's changing Within this frame an ocean swells - behind this smile I know it well Beneath a lover's moon I'm waiting I am the pilot of the storm - adrift in pleasure I may drown I built this ship - it is my making And furthermore my self control I can't rely on anymore I know why - I know why Crazy on a ship of fools Crazy on a ship of fools Turn this boat around - back to my loving ground Who claims that no man is an island While I land up in jeopardy - more distant from you by degrees I walk this shore in isolation And at my feet eternity draws ever sweeter plans for me I know why - I know why Crazy on a ship of fools Crazy on a ship of fools Turn this boat around - back to my loving ground Oh no, oh no - ship of fools --

Have you ever seen those in gift shops...they're red rubber duckies with little devil horns. So devilishly cute! She was afraid to come out of the locker She was as nervous as she could be She was afraid to come out of the locker She was afraid that somebody would see One, two, three, four, tell the people what she wore It was an itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini That she wore for the first time today An itsy, bitsy, teentie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini So in the locker she wanted to stay Two, three, four, stick around we'll tell you more She was afraid to come out in the open And so a blanket around she wore She was afraid to come out in the open And so she sat bundled up on the shore Two, three, four, tell the people what she wore It was an itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini That she wore for the first time today An itsy, bitsy, teentie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini So in the blanket she wanted to stay Two, three, four, stick around we'll tell you more Now she is afraid to come out of the water And I wonder what she's gonna do Now she is afraid to come out of the water And the poor little girl's turning blue Two, three, four, tell the people what she wore It was an itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini That she wore for the first time today An itsy, bitsy, teentie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini So in the water she wanted to stay (From the locker to the blanket) (From the blanket to the shore) (From the shore to the water) Yes, there isn't any more

Half a mile from the county fairAnd the rain keep pourin' down Me and Billy standin' there With a silver half a crown Hands are full of a fishin' rod And the tackle on our backs We just stood there gettin' wet With our backs against the fence Oh, the water Oh, the water Oh, the water Hope it don't rain all day [Chorus:] And it stoned me to my soul Stoned me just like Jelly Roll And it stoned me And it stoned me to my soul Stoned me just like goin' home And it stoned me Then the rain let up and the sun came up And we were gettin' dry Almost let a pick-up truck nearly pass us by So we jumped right in and the driver grinned And he dropped us up the road We looked at the swim and we jumped right in Not to mention fishing poles Oh, the water Oh, the water Oh, the water Let it run all over me [Chorus] On the way back home we sang a song But our throats were getting dry Then we saw the man from across the road With the sunshine in his eyes Well he lived all alone in his own little home With a great big gallon jar There were bottles too, one for me and you And he said Hey! There you are Oh, the water Oh, the water Oh, the water Get it myself from the mountain stream

Or does it?.... Only love can make it rain The way the beach is kissed by the sea Only love can make it rain Like the sweat of lovers layin' in the fields Love, reign o'er me Love, reign o'er me Rain on me, rain on me Only love can bring the rain That makes you yearn to the sky Only love can bring the rain That falls like tears from on high Love, reign o'er me Rain on me, rain on me Love, reign o'er me Rain on me, rain on me On the dry and dusty road The nights we spend apart alone I need to get back home to cool, cool rain I can't sleep, and I lay, and I think The night is hot and black as ink Oh God, I need a drink of cool, cool rain Love, reign o'er me Reign o'er me, o'er me, o'er me Love, reign o'er me, o'er me Love Goodnight Miami, Goodnight Irene.....and all the ships at sea.....pun intended.....

the more they stay the same! Now here you go again You say you want your freedom Well, who am I to keep you down? It's only right that you should Play the way you feel it But listen carefully to the sound Of your loneliness Like a heartbeat.. drives you mad In the stillness of remembering what you had And what you lost... And what you had... And what you lost [Chorus:] Thunder only happens when it's raining Players only love you when they're playing Say... Women... they will come and they will go When the rain washes you clean... you'll know, you'll know Now here I go again, I see the crystal visions I keep my visions to myself It's only me Who wants to wrap around your dreams and... Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? Dreams of loneliness... Like a heartbeat... drives you mad... In the stillness of remembering what you had... And what you lost... And what you had... And what you lost [Chorus 2x]

I can't help about the shape I'm inI can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin But don't ask me what I think of you I might not give the answer that you want me to Oh well Now, when I talked to God I knew he'd understand He said, "Stick by my side and I'll be your guiding hand But don't ask me what I think of you I might not give the answer that you want me to" Oh well

the lyrics could covey the sound. The whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. We passed upon the stair, we spoke of was and when Although I wasn't there, he said I was his friend Which came as some surprise I spoke into his eyes I thought you died alone, a long long time ago Oh no, not me I never lost control You're face to face With The Man Who Sold The World I laughed and shook his hand, and made my way back home I searched for form and land, for years and years I roamed I gazed a gazely stare at all the millions here We must have died alone, a long long time ago Who knows? not me We never lost control You're face to face With the Man who Sold the World
