    Off Subject
This is off the subject but has been bugging me - I noticed and pre-ordered the next RSD release on cd. Is there any chance of Dark Star, Winterland May 30, 1971 and Hampton Coliseum being re-issued in that format? I'm hip to the vinyl resurgence but I have all the Dead stuff on cd (according to Wikipedia) except Golden Road, Beyond Description (bonus discs/sampler) the Vault Box and the Warner Bros. lps. I'd like to listen to those RSD titles and not simply display the lp although I plan to get the Winterland lp anyhow just because it was done the day before my birth. And it's such a sweet album cover. Any ideas ?

Welcome back to the Tapers Section. This week we have a batch of Grateful Dead music from Brent's first six years in the band.

Our first selection this week is from the end of the second set of the last show of the October-November leg of the Fall Tour of 1979, on 11/10/79 in Ann Arbor, MI, featuring Space > Not Fade Away > Black Peter > Sugar Magnolia, One More Saturday Night.

From a year later on 11/26/80 in Pembroke Pines, FL we have the start of the second set, featuringCold Rain And Snow ; Samson And Delilah ; China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider > Estimated Prophet >Eyes Of The World. After the five weeks spent in the beautiful Warfield and Radio City Music Hall, the Dead hit Florida and Georgia for a short, four show tour where they really let loose with some terrific, high-energy Dead.

Lastly this week, from five years later on 11/8/85 in Rochester, NY, at the Dead's last-ever show at the War Memorial, we have the entire second set featuring Revolution ; Estimated Prophet > Eyes Of The World > Drums > Space > The Other One > I Need A Miracle > She Belongs To Me > Sugar Magnolia Encore (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction. I distinctly recall getting a cassette of this show a few days after the concert, and was amazed the Dead played the Beatles, Dylan and the Stones in the same set.

Be sure to join us here next week for more tunes from the vault.

as a drumz/space advocate 11/8/85 second set complete is fantastic to hear. for consideration perhaps eventually someday might i suggest a listen to 11/11/85? not a sexy set list by any means -- although the walking the dog->deal first set opener is an interesting choice. but the second set has that 85 last stop on the east coast energy which could be worth a listen at some point.

I listened to this 2nd set on the anniversary date. Great Drums > Space. I think I even got a hint of Ollin Arrageed type rhythm in Drums. This is an excellent Drums > Space. I'm glad it's up this week. And the She Belongs To Me is another outstanding performance. Lots of good 85' shows in the month of November. For some odd reason Dave will have 4-8-85 featured today on SiriusXm Today in GD History and mentioned today is a birthday program or something special. I also got a good listen of 11-9-79 first set yesterday, which was up here a few weeks ago. Great stuff and very long. Well worth the time And in regard to the Nov. 80 show. I am campaigning for more shows from 1980. I got a good listen to 1st set of 8-21-80. This 3 night run at the the Uptown should be up for box set consideration. Depending on the status of tapes in the vault. August 19-21, 1980. Check it out.

Cold Rain And Snow -> Looks Like Rain, never saw this combo anywhere. Killer show no cuts in the sbd or the excellent(pitch-corrected) audience to sync it up with for a matrix. Just synced these two up it's sounds great.

'85 is loaded with all sorts of gems! Go searchin' for the sound on archive.org and you will see what I mean. Even on the not so spectacular nights there are little nuggets where the band shines. As always, the posting of these tunes is very appreciated. Thank you.

It really was smoking stuff. Dave's picks release from the run is fantastic, and Gainesville tape has always been a big favorite of mine too. Nice to see this chunk of tunes here.

It had to have been 85 if it was in the eighties and if it was in Cali its either Greek 6/16 or Ventura 7/13. Only times played in California since 1971
