    We are more than pleased to announce the Grateful Dead's most ambitious release ever: 30 TRIPS AROUND THE SUN. Available as both an 80-disc boxed set and a custom lightning-bolt USB drive, the collection includes 30 unreleased live shows, one for each year the band was together from 1966 to 1995, along with one track from their earliest recording sessions in 1965. Packed with over 73 hours of music, both the boxed set and the USB drive will be individually numbered limited editions.

    The 80-disc boxed set is individually numbered and limited to 6,500 copies, a nod to the band’s formation in 1965. Along with the CDs, it also includes a gold-colored 7-inch vinyl single which bookends the band’s career. The A-side is “Caution (Do Not Stop On Tracks)” from the band’s earliest recording session in 1965 with the B-side of the last song the band ever performed together live, “Box Of Rain” recorded during their final encore at Soldier Field in Chicago on July 9, 1995.

    The box also comes with a 288-page book that features an extensive, career-spanning essay written by Nick Meriwether, who oversees the Dead archives at the University of California, Santa Cruz, along with special remembrances of the band submitted by fans. Also included is a scroll that offers a visual representation of how the band’s live repertoire has evolved through the years.

    The USB drive version* will be shaped like a gold lightning bolt with the Grateful Dead 50th anniversary logo engraved on the side. The drive includes all of the music from the collection in both FLAC (96/24) and MP3 formats and is an individually numbered limited edition of 1,000 copies. Digital version of the book also included on USB.

    Running the 30 Trips Player / Reader program:

    To view the PDF, open the PDF folder on the drive and the USB_bk_spreads_08-31 file within. Selecting the option within your PDF reading application to view as a “single page” might be preferable to viewing as a continuous document.

    When you import the songs from the USB into your library, the information used to identify the track will likely leave them sorted incorrectly. Please use the song list found here to re-number the songs for each show so that they playback in the correct order.

    As a stop-gap solution, they could setup a download site for USB purchasers.... I would have thought it could have been done in a day, even allowing for the size of 24/96 files (Livedownloads.com do it every day, with no problems), and then send on the actual USB at a later date. Maybe they are worried that we would DL and then cancel.If we knew the exact problem, maybe WE could come up with a solution that would satisfy the majority of people.Everytime, it's comes back to ..... BE HONEST with your customers !

    i know that cannot be fun. Didnt know they can use electrostim or tens to stimulate growth. Wish i could get you some medicine for pain. As Doc would say, here is a cookie. Though I do not have any 1971 lined up.

    They put a wedge between L2 and L5 discs. Now comes the long part - back brace for 3 months and electro-stim (for bone growth) for 6 mos. It'll be worth it to walk again.

    Glad you made it back. I had planned to send you a PM this last few days but work is kicking my proverbial behind. Glad the surgery went well. Was kind of getting worried about you. I am loving the big box with all of its warts. Never saw the real early dead where they played with a younger mindset and drive. All of my shows had warts so I am used to that. But again I am loving it. I have made it through 1976 with 2 listens per show. I still have many unopened official releases and boxes. So I have 2-3 years of stuff to entertain me. How is the back healing up...did you get the new laser back surgery?

    After months of waiting, and getting no answers ...... my ticket to the Greek show June 15, 1988, arrived in a huge package ! Fucking great !

    If you ordered the 30 Trips
    If you ordered the 30 Trips set, check your Order Status. You should still be able to stream all 30 shows + the 7" vinyl single. You should also be able to download the book in pdf format. I ordered the physical set. I imagine the same goes for USB orders, provided the charge already hit your account.

    yes, all the usb customers have had streaming access for the past two months or so, ever since the orig release date. i canceled my usb so don't have that streaming access anymore. can't see if the link is still on that page but if you contact CS, im sure (well, maybe not sure) they can get you a link for digital copy of the booklet.

    Are you saying that USB customers can stream the shows? I have no such book link since I'm not a USB customer. But I would LOVE the book in digital format. Would like to find out how, if possible.

This offering from 30 Trips is a classic Bruce/Vinnie show! The whole fall 1990 tour really. For a band who just hired two new players this tour has some mighty fine moments. New York to the UK and more! Good stuff!
