Now, every criminal in the country will be running for office, why not? can do whatever one wants when in office. Supreme court says so. What an absolute criminal joke.

Yes, they could do that. In order for there to be punishment, it would have to be deemed non-official, and I'm not sure if they bought the crock about needing to be adjudication guilty by the Senate first. It was such a wise move ending the Emoluments lawsuit after they waited to take it up after he left office, and dismissed on the grounds that it was moot as he was no longer in office. Yet, had they determined he violated the Emoluments Clause, he could have been impeached again. Or could he, being out of office, yet certainly violations that took place only while in office, because that's the only possible time an offense could ever take place. We have some real winners on the Supreme Court. Their favorite Dan album is clearly Pretzel Logic.

Time to buckle up and get the nose to the grindstone. Vote this garbage out of existence and then let’s get busy expanding The Supreme Court it is IMHO the only way forward now. John Robert’s will have the destruction of the rule of law on his gravestone hope he enjoys that. Alito and Thomas and those wives are shameless.

Agree this is a disastrous day for our country and the "rule of law";
while difficult to understand, there is a grain of hope in the steadfastness of those who oppose such extremes and wish and want for a more positive way forward.

In the late 1990s, my grandmother and I would often keep each other company in the evenings, and after talking about the news of the day, she'd eventually say something along the lines of, "well honey, I hate to say it, but your grandfather and I saw the best days that this country had to give." When Nixon resigned 50 years, all he was accused of was planning the burglary and wiretapping of his political opponents. Little did he know: he could've just had them all killed!

We know this because this very example was discussed in oral arguments for today's Supreme Court decision. The former president's lawyers were asked: could a president order the Navy SEALs to assassinate his political opponents, and use presidential immunity to avoid prosecution? They said yes, he could. And now the Supreme Court has agreed.

We thought things were pretty bad back '74. It seemed incredible to think that the president was involved in something so blatantly illegal as the Watergate break in. But back then, we all assumed that even presidents were not above the law, and even Nixon agreed. He may have been a crook, but he had enough decency and respect for the presidency to resign when evidence of his crimes became public.

What a sucker. What a loser. He could've just had all those people killed.

Welcome to the future, folks. The next US president, and all those after him, will have unlimited power, without any of that annoying "balance of power, coequal branches of government" stuff to worry about. Watch what you say and keep your head on a swivel. It's going to get weird.

Doesn’t anybody remember Roy Cohn? In the 1950s he was Joe McCarthy’s chief council for the Witch-hunts. Later, in 1971, he began meticulously schooling a young real estate tycoon wannabe in New York City in the fine points of “reflect, distract, lie, cheat, deflect, eliminate your opposition by any and all means, and, above all, never, ever admit you’re wrong.” Almost half of the country has been hypnotized by this weird metastasizing pied piper. Guess maybe we really shouldn’t be surprised.

Listen to the space from both the audience & the board, you can tell how well the P.A. was kicking this night. Oh yeah at around four-twenty mark of TOO, Brent pushes an effect that sounds just like the angelic choir in heaven. Even though it is only one second, it is one second I always loved.

The admirable restraint shown here regarding severely twisted politics is commendable. The ruling announced today was a foregone conclusion, based on current clown majority. The fix was in. Their short term strategy, the woefully irresponsible delay already happened. All is not lost, immunity from specific charges is yet to be determined, what's official, what is not. For example, what Tricky Dick did was clearly not official, and they had to strike a deal with his corrupt VP Agnew first to resign to make sure he did not replace RN. Soon a great deal of new evidence should come to light via pre trial hearings before the election. Voters will decide if they will support a depraved sociopath and convicted criminal whom they know will pardon himself and hundreds of criminals while he threatens to jail his opponents.

Unfortunately, the release date of the 2024 Box Set has been delayed indefinitely. It is apparently in some sort of legal limbo. Both the Velvet Underground and the Estate of Andy Warhol have sued the artist and Rhino for copyright infringement. You see, the cover art is full of drawings of bananas, after all it's in the shape of a banana box. As luck would have it and completely by coincidence, one of the bananas looks strangely similar to the artwork from the album The Velvet Undergound & Nico. damned attorneys..

On a similar note, I just got what I thought was my 50th Anniversary of from the Mars Hotel. I opened it up and they sent me Dave's Picks vol. 51 by mistake. Is anyone else having this problem? An honest person would alert them to this mistake and send it back, right?

Until I received an email from Ticketbastard that a data breach occurred and some of my personal information was compromised due to a third party that was storing my data in "the cloud."

Did anyone else here get this message today?

Now I'm pissed off.. why? I do not preach hate, more the opposite, but I do in fact hate ticketbastard and live nation. Now I hate them more.

The only acceptable remedy: Make them pay fees. Very expensive and numerous fees. Never ending fees for the mere inconvenience of exposing my personal data to nefarious characters through their negligence. Fees. Fees. Fees.

I miss the days of hanging out at Tower Records with my Number Of The Beast on cassette in a boom box waiting for good seats. As true music fans used to do.

Going way back.. There were no Tower Records where I grew up. It was the Hecht Company or Bass Music. Someone or groups of someone's' would camp out all night(s) to get good seats. Sometimes we would take turns and relieve the person before us. That was the only way to get good tickets until..

Enter Live Nation and their loyal subsidiary TicketBastard aka Buzzkill Magill to steal my money and give me shitty seats. But at least they were expensive, thank God for that. I'd gladly give all my personal information for the same tickets at VIP pricing. Praise Be.

I guess the bands share some responsibility for allowing this mess to exist. Argh, nobody wins execpt the ones at the top of the food chain.

Dennis and other jazz collectors in the Dead sphere - Blue Note has a 2 cd/vinyl collection coming of the late great Wayne Shorter in August entitled “Celebration - Volume 1” (a tip off there may be more to come). This is “live” recordings from WS and his crack band from 2014 (a tour I saw), and a better legacy release than the not so great Detroit Jazz Festival release that came out shortly after his passing. The latter is a hard pass IMO.
While giving GarciaLive 21 a fresh listen, it struck me how complimentary Donna Godchaux was to Jerry’s solo work when she was in his band, as Jerry tended to play a pretty select group of soulful slow numbers that lent itself to her vocal range, semi-Gospel sound. I was not a great fan of her overall work with the Dead, with some exceptions, but the solo Jerry releases in which she (and Keith) were in the band, tend to be an excellent band.

Was announced May 31.

As a certifiably Cranky Old Dude, very few things annoy me as much as the fact that in order to buy anything these days you have to download somebody's app. And in order to install the app you have to check the box that certifies that you've read and agreed to the user agreement (which of course you didn't read and wouldn't agree to if you did). Which usually means that you're giving Ticketmaster or whatever company you want to buy from access to all the personal info on your phone, which typically includes your browser history, present location, credit cards, DOB and all kinds of other stuff you don't want everybody and their moms to know. And then eventually the company is going to have a data breach and all that info is in the hands people who aren't very nice.

I've been part of at least three major data breaches in the past 18 months or so, including Ticketmaster. All I can do is set up credit alerts on Experien and hope the thieves are focused on richer people than me.

And while I'm ranting? Let's take a moment to notice that ***** has already invoked presidential immunity to postpone sentencing in the hush money case. Mind you, the felonious actions involved all took place BEFORE he was elected, and yet somehow he is still allowed to claim presidential immunity.

OK. I'm done.

So many ticket purchasing adventures, usually ending with not so great tickets. As a native of southern Wisconsin (Milwaukee and then Madison and college in La Crosse), Alpine Valley shows in the late 80s and early to mid 90s were my go-to.

It was virtually impossible to get pavilion seats at Alpine at Ticketron outlets. Four times (Clapton 1988, Dead 1989, Stones 1989 and Clapton/SRV 1990), I arrived at the Sears on the west side of Madison with the Ticketron and was 2nd in line-- every time right behind an old friend of mine from my Milwaukee youth (man, I miss seeing Johnny U). Sears would open early for us to get to the window before sale time, the woman would input for best tickets right on time and Johnny U and I never got pavilion seats. Always lawn and man, pavilion seats would have been very welcome in 1989 for both the Dead and Stones.

I did have a couple of good ticket experiences-- as my family was moving from Milwaukee to Madison in 1987, I wanted to hit one show before my move. Went to the Ticketron to see what I could hit and scored 2nd row to the Kinks (Word of Mouth Tour) at the Riverside Theater a couple of night hence. Awesome show, still love the Kinks, amazing band. Then for Clapton's arena shows in spring 1992, I was in college in La Crosse and scored 11th row for Bradley Center and then 29th row for Target Center in Minneapolis. I found that it could be done, just not for Alpine Valley.

Glad to see so many like-minded Deadheads voicing frustration with the political decision yesterday, for that is what it was-- it wasn't a legal decision at all. We all need to get out the vote and make sure that felon isn't elected. Hope that wakes up some folks who have been on the fence.

Miss those guys too. When I lived in downtown Sea (Lower QA - Space Needle neighborhood) and people were coming over I'd say "Do you know where the Tower Records is?" Worked every time, place was 2 blocks away. Think its a parking lot now, boooooo

One of my many "record of month" places, offered up a group called "Listening", the album - "Listening". A late 60's psychedelic band out of Boston. I was spent out on buying more optional stuff. But the whole album is on u boob.
Sound ok (very 60's), there if you want to check out or maybe you know this group and can enlighten us with your in depth knowledge on Listening.
